Anti-Gay Kansas Church Members Plan to Attend Falwell Funeral

The controversial anti-homosexual Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., plans to "preach" at the funeral of Rev. Jerry Falwell, according to its Web site.

"WBC will preach at the memorial service of the corpulent false prophet Jerry Falwell, who spent his entire life prophesying lies and false doctrines like 'God loves everyone,'" reads a posting on Godhatesamerica.com.

Keep in mind that Falwell was a Republican and Phelps & family are Democrats. Falwell was also successful and the (un)Rev. Fred Phelps could only get his family to join his “church”.

If this is a church, then I’m the Easter Bunny. It’s either one of the more bizarre cults I’ve ever seen; or, considering Phelps’ political background and connections, it is one of the more bizarre cults I’ve ever seen that is set up to make conservative Christians look bad. Think of the person who sees them and doesn’t know who they are. They’re probably thinking, “there go those crazy fundies again.”

This one stinks to high heaven. I’ve been in a lot of churches over many years, and I’ve never seen anything like this at all. Of course, that doesn’t keep the normally -bloodhound-nosed MSM from presenting them as simply a church.

The reason why is that first of all, he always demands protection from the cities and the police wherever he goes. And then secondly, he makes a point of suing and they get money from things like this. So, he would immensely enjoy being attacked, so he could collect millions of dollars from lawsuits (from both cities, police forces and the attackers). I think they actually make a living off lawsuits like this. They have won other lawsuits like this.
