Senator [Hillary Rodham Clinton] wants pre-K for all 4-year-olds

WASHINGTON (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton is ready to propose a new federal plan that would offer high-quality preschool to every 4-year-old in America.

The Democratic presidential candidate says the universal Pre-K plan would cost about ten billion dollars. Speaking on NBC's "Today Show," she said evidence shows such preschool programs save money in the long run -- and that students have fewer behavioral problems and stay in school longer.

The New York senator says she'd pay for universal preschool by closing tax loopholes and eliminating Bush administration programs she disagrees with. The proposal would give federal funds to states that establish a plan for making voluntary pre-kindergarten services available for all.

She's presenting the proposal today at a Miami Beach elementary school.

That isn’t the case with Head Start is it? Staying in school longer and having fewer behavioral problems?

On the other hand, Head Start is really just federalized child care.

What a mess. Yeah, great idea, let’s spend more money on something that doesn’t work already.

high-quality preschool

I'm sure every pre-school will be 'above average.'

This is a nightmare right out of Ayn Rand’s ANTHEM. Babies will be crying for their mothers.

Such an evil and hypocritical generation she belongs to.

Rampant drug use was OK then (smoking and drinking goes without saying was OK too); now, ban smoking everywhere, random pee test high school kids, and have German Shepherds patrol the lockers for pot.

Their moms back then had dozens of kids, abortion was unspeakable, and the 50s and 60s were very kid-friendly; now, as parents, they themselves now abort more kids than they bear and child abuse and molestation is at record levels.

Back in the day they demanded curricular reform, griped about tough courses and grading, demanded 'relevance' and of course enjoyed long, free summer vacations; but for their kids, they push for year round school, mandatory all day kindergarten, now all day nursery school, lockstep indoctrination including sex ed, homo ed, etc., and medicate or expel any kid who chafes at the totalitarian bit or tries to pray.

An evil and adulterous generation. Horrible hypocrites. Hillary is the archetype of the wretched narcissistic communist Boomers.

I want to see her thesis from Smith College...the original, not the phony one that her Leftie cohorts switched after seeing what the Swiftboats did to John Kerry. I”ll bet my eye teeth that it is a Communist Manifesto that even Stalin would be envious of...

Wellesley, but I want to see it too......

Do you know where Lenin said that?

The version I’m finding is slightly different:

“Give me one generation of youth, and I will transform the entire world.” - V. I. Lenin

OOPS! Thanks for the correction, I am typing with one eye open this morning. The sun has come out and the rain has stopped...I am feeling quite disoriented!

HClinton is a stone Communist, and in 2007 on Planet Earth, that means rotten food, rotten ideas and no regard for the freedom of mankind. To paraphrase the ProtestWarrior sign, “Communist China, Communist Russia, Communist Cuba...Let’s Give It Another Try”.

How much will this cost and who’s going to pay for it? One of her strong points is figuring out ways to spend other people’s money.

In a day when social security is on a course for self destruction, she wants to find ways to spend even more money that we don’t have. The irresponsibility is staggering.

Well...it is a fact that children who attend Montessori school do much better in school than those that wait and go directly to kindergarten.

I'm not saying I agree with Hillary Clinton. She can burn in hell...sooner the better.

I agree church sponsored day care centers are better than ones grafted onto public school systems. Our two children, now adults, went to an Evangelical Protestant day care and we were very happy on the kind, loving and well thought out activities. Good and kind treatment by teachers who were good examples to the kids was their ministry, not jamming religion at the kids. That God and Christ existed and want us to be better humans was understood as part of the day and activities. Also, the kids did a wonderful Christmas show every year with those timeless carols.

Words cannot convey how much I loathe this woman. She is evil incarnate. Yet people will fall for stuff like this because it is packaged as being ‘good for the children’. You see it happen everywhere- not just the poor or single mothers want this. When they come up with these all-day 4yo kindergarten programs even in affluent areas, parents glom right onto it, saying their kids need to be in these programs so they can be ‘competitive’ in tomorrow’s workplace! Yes, taking barely potty-trained 4 year olds away from their families 8 hours a day to supposedly ‘teach’ them will make them competitive 18 years from now. Unbelievable.

If she thinks this is important then she should run for Governor of NY, (or Il, or Ak, or where ever the heck she’s from) and push it. That’s where this needs to be discussed. It’s none of the Federal Government’s business.
