RALEIGH, N.C. - MySpace.com will provide a number of state attorneys general with data on registered sex offenders who use the popular social networking web site, the company said Monday. Attorneys general from eight states demanded last week that the company provide data on how many registered sex offenders are using the site and where they live. Oh, sure like they’re going to use their legal name and address.
Yeah, as if they all go right to the “Sex Offenders Unite!” MySpace group and start bragging about their latest conquests...
Well, it might help catch some guys.
For example, I have seen many sting operations on Dateline NBC where they entrap these predator guys. They send pictures of their private parts over the internet and talk dirty in IMs, leaving a cyber trail. They are invited by the person posing as a teenager (either girl or boys) and these guys come right to the address given where they can be arrested.
So if it helps catch any of these guys, it’s worth trying.
Even if these databases were 100% complete and accurate and with 100% compliance by all registered sex offenders, it's still not safe to let your children go online unsupervised. Never will be.
Which is why we have software installed to record every keystroke and we check it regularly.
Just read that Dennis Kucinich’s wife has a website on MySpace.com. She has something in common with sex offenders. Wonder if she’ll share hers.
This ought to cause a real RINO stampede over at That Other Site.
If these people are so dangerous, WTF are they allowed in society?
You sure that ain’t for your spouse?
There are millions of people with MySpace pages. They aren’t all sex offenders. Most of the candidates have MySpace pages. If they don’t they are missing a huge opportunity to reach voters.
