Especially with gas about to hit $4/gal...no chance of cooling off anytime soon.
Campaigning! There is a difference. [sarcasm off]
Exactly what I thought when I saw the June date.
We’re going to have to keep after them.
I, for one, will not let up.
Well, that’s it for Alexander in TN. He will be toast.
They'll eventually get their way...we've lost control of the government.
“Well, thats it for Alexander in TN. He will be toast.”
patience... send him emails, call him, work on him. Here is the script:
“In 2006 I called up a Senator and told him his vote for amnesty was a terrible idea that would cost him support. He was Mike DeWine. Now I am calling you. this is a warning: If you vote for this bill, you will lose re-election.
Now you get to save America and your sorry hide in one fell swoop, or you can sell both down the river. Which is it?”
There are reasons why “bipartisan” bills are the WORST BILLS EVER. They get two halves of two bad bills and stick em together. Voila, special interests on both sides (immigrant lawyers, La Raza, and cheap labor lobby), while the grassroots on all sides gets screwed.
Call him and let him know... I believe he will come around on this. he was stand-up on it in 2006.
I called his office late Thursday, on Friday and today.
Apparently he doesn’t listen to the people of TN.
LOL. reaching for that bogus bag o tricks so early in the debate??? They must be desperate. Senator JAGmo Graham, cracker, quit trying to be jesse jackson.
Exactly what I was thinking. I don't plan on cooling down though.
“I will have to get my little bit of satisfaction by eventually voting against my Texas Republican Senators if they support this bill.”
At least Cornyn and Hutchison are solid against it.
Ping for later.
>>Any thing that delays this is good, because they were trying to ram this through before anyone could read it. Now the weak-kneed RINOs will get two weeks worth of FAXes and e-mails and phone calls. Im hoping this is now the death knell of this bill.<<
Agree. Our Senate “leaders” admitted that any amendments to the bill could kill it. Sounds like a house of cards. But we gotta stay focused, because they are full of cheap tricks. It’s sad that I have to describe the Senate in those terms, but true.
LOL. reaching for that bogus bag o tricks so early in the debate???
Yeah, I always assume that when they use the typical Race Hustler argument of BIGOT this early in the debate they don’t have any argument at all.
I’m not suprised. He’s pretty slack-jawed under normal circumstances - usually has to shoo the flies out of his mouth before he says anything.
Too bad. I kinda liked him during the Clinton impeachment.
>>At least Cornyn and Hutchison are solid against it.<<
I hope you are right, but Hutch might vote for a slightly tweaked version.
WASHINGTON — Today Texas Senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Chairman of the Republican Policy Committee (RPC), issued this statement following her vote against cloture on the motion to proceed to S. 1348, the immigration bill:
Immigration is far too important an issue for us to rush through the U.S. Senate. This bill has not even been written in legislative language, has not been approved through the committee process, and therefore cannot be vetted by the American people. I believe we can produce a better bill if we take adequate time to consider this landmark legislation.
I can hear it now...
"no, I want the votes, no I want the votes",..... "they make good commies, the usa will be a socialist utopia in no time",..... "they make great slaves to finally drive a stake in the union heart and do the jobs americans wont do"
