New NBC Entertainment Chief Angered by Leak

Newly appointed NBC Universal Entertainment Co-chairman Ben Silverman has castigated L.A. Weekly columnist Nikki Finke, who broke the story on her website last week that top NBC executives were planning to replace Entertainment President Kevin Reilly with Silverman. On Monday, TV Week quoted Silverman as saying, "I hate the blog world. ... It ends up interfering with people's lives. It messes with the process." The trade publication said that Finke's report "sent the entire NBC dealmaking team into frantic overdrive through the Memorial Day weekend."

Sometimes it's good to see them leaking something. See how they react when it happens to them instead to the Pentagon or DoJ.

"It messes with the process."

The process?

Which one- was it taken from The Big Book of Processes?

Was there a vote that we all missed, to decide on.... "The Process"?

This guy wasn’t expecting to have to hit the ground running. The Honeymoon is over before it began, and this crybaby is actually on the record whining about it. I will give him credit for producing The Office & Ugly Betty (not a statement on quality in the latter case, just success), but with this attitude, I don’t have high hopes for his success.

Man, what a baby.

Fixing NBC is easy. Start showing programs people want to actually watch and ditch the plan to expand Today to four hours.

"The Process"?...

Take knife in hand. Sneak up on intended victim. Insert blade in the back of victim. Slink quietly away.

I was going to say, "Use your body weight to drag the knife down until you hit the pelvis."

Guess Silverman had to cancel his Memorial holiday golf resort reservations...

I think all leaking should be stop it is form of black framing and it does ends up interfering with people’s lives and messes with the process.

No one lives by protocal or rules anymore every things is treated like war time!

This kind of behavior destoryes loyalty to a nation and underminds the security of a people!

And the news business plods on. We are to assume that NBC leaked the information, since Mr. Silverman’s side does not seem to have gained advantage by using the press.

Is this guy any relation to Fred Silverman?
