Hagel Meets His Match
The New York Sun ^ | June 6, 2007 | Unattributed

Posted on 06/06/2007 12:41:06 PM PDT by gpapa

The attorney general of Nebraska, Jon Bruning, stopped by our office yesterday to let us know that tomorrow he will announce he will challenge Senator Hagel in the Republican primary, which is in May of 2008. A poll conducted for Mr. Bruning shows him leading Mr. Hagel among likely Republican primary voters by 9 percentage points. Mr. Bruning assails Mr, Hagel for being, "The Republican that talks like a Democrat," pointing to Mr. Hagel's support for a timeline for withdrawal from Iraq, as well as his discussion of impeaching President Bush. "He's become arrogant and out of touch," Mr. Bruning said. "His constituent services are very poor."

Good. Now when is Ravenal going to step in against Linds?

And hopefully primary voters ignore the RNC this time, because there is no guarentee voters will stick with those losers in the generalanymore then they did DeWine or Chafee.

HOw is Hagel on econ issues?

The point being, would Club for Growth (a.k.a., the real Republican Party) get involved?

Getting Hagel out is much more important than the issues.

All the RINOS that voted to keep felons in the country should be defeated.

More than a few of us expect this little weasel will be the running mate of the ultraliberal NYC Mayor Bloomberg on a leftist/surrendermonkey ticket.

I wouldn't bet against those two running.

How could their egos refuse such an opportunity?!?

I wished I lived in his State, I would love to vote against him.

I’m stuck in Illinois, so I forget when my vote actually meant anything.

Bruning vs. Hagel.

What a dismal primary.

Chuckie has plenty of money and can get lots more. CoC loves him. Club For Growth (I'm a member) will undoubtedly support him if he wants it.

And the man owns more voting machines in the state than you can shake a stick at. His first election was especially interesting. Just like someone pushed a button somewhere.

I guess this means we can expect the Bush administration to launch into action working on a Hagel victory in primary.

That's not what I understand. Hagel has the least money of any Senator up for election in 2008. (Except for Allard, who isn't running for reelection)

I’m a member too, but I won’t be anymore if they support this POS.

I had forgotten Hagel until I saw this thread. Wasn’t he going to run for president? About a month ago many of my liberal friends were saying that he would be the GOP nominee......

Hagel's nightmare.

Meet Your Attorney General

Following the 2002 election, Jon Bruning became the youngest Attorney General in Nebraska's history and the youngest Attorney General in the United States. A fifth-generation Nebraskan, Bruning carries a reputation as an aggressive, effective leader in the fight against crime. He is Chairman of the Nebraska Crime Commission and serves on the Board of Pardons.

Before becoming Attorney General, Bruning was twice elected to the Nebraska Legislature and served six years as a state senator. During his term as a lawmaker, Bruning operated a thriving private law practice. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Nebraska.

He won't need them. He'll have the support of national CoC and the illegals lobby and the semi-mythical "One Hundred", the large corporate and establishment political interests in the state.

Personally, I think he'll run with Bloomberg or he'll retire.

We need to support this guy and anybody who will take on Graham and Specter in the primaries. Three of the Gag Factor up for election next time. I always think of it as a good year when I can vote against Snarlin’ Arlen TWICE in the same year.
