Paris banged up ... again (Prisoner Riot Feared over Hilton Special Treatment)
The Sun ^ | 6-9-07 | EMILY SMITH

PETRIFIED PARIS HILTON mouthed “I love you” to her parents last night — before being carted off to face a hostile reception in prison.....[snip]

[snip]Prisoner number 9818783 was put back in her special cell — isolated from other inmates — amid fears the angry lags could RIOT over her special treatment.

Wardens even ordered a lockdown as prisoners — who think Paris pretended to be sick to con doctors — threatened a revolt.

An insider at the prison in Lynwood, California, said: “The women inside the jail are seething. They say if you’re a rich white girl you get special treatment.

“They are furious that while Paris had her own special cell with a panic button, was given better food and was kept away from the general population, she was still released early.

“There are girls in here with cancer, TB, and with MRSA. They aren’t allowed to go home and are treated by prison medical staff.

“The prisoners think if you’re rich and pretend you’re sick you can get away with murder.

“Many of the girls have been locked down in their cells all day because they are so furious. The jail is full of screams about Paris.

“Prison bosses fear this could simmer over into violence.”

Ex-inmate Lisa Caprie said she suffered a nervous breakdown inside but was kept there.

She said: “We heard Paris was treated like the Queen of England. It’s not fair. My husband fought to get me out when I had a breakdown but they didn’t listen.”

And Elana Lamb, set free with an ankle tag, said Paris made a nuisance of herself by repeatedly pressing a medical alert button.

Lamb, 38, said: “She was just whining, complaining she was cold and hungry.”............."

Driving with a suspended license is certainly not comparable to murder. And honestly, I don’t support filling our jails with nonviolent offenders.

She was on probation for a DWI. It may have been reduced to another offense but she was still on probation for three years. If she violates her probation (which she did two times) she could have received the entire sentence. I think she got off pretty easy.

Don’t try to make sense, the mob is in a feeding frenzy.

Paris Hilton has become the American Marie Antoinette.

Because:

1. Anna Nicole is dead
2. Angelina and Brad haven't announced another U.N. babysearch
3. Katrina victims have gotten another victim extension
4. No one gives a damn about Phil Specter.

This situation is just plain stupid. The cop let her out. Why did she get additional time?

She wasn't given additional time. And Bacca is in contempt of court.

Citing 'Medical' Reasons, Sheriff Sends Paris Hilton Home to Finish Sentence

When she was sentenced May 4, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled that she would not be allowed any work release, furloughs or use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail.

I did not say a great family, I just said they were nice.In those circles there can be some pretty nasty people but I guess her family is not, that does not make them parents of the year. I certainly cannot claim parent of year either, I just hope this will be a wake up call for her and she can turn her life around.

I did ask my friend that same question regarding money. She said she yearns a lot of her money. She gets paid big bucks to appear at functions, paid to wear to wear a designers clothes, and lets not forget that hamburger commercial she was in. In other words she gets paid for being Paris. I also think she does some clothing or handbag designing. Her parents must have done something right because her sister seems to be OK.

I need to get that movie! Barbara Luna played a spy on an episode of “Mission Impossible” during its first year (viewed the episode last night on DVD). Didn’t recognize her in the pic you posted.

I don’t know, but a panic button might be a good idea for a high profile prisoner who faces death and rape threats... I’ve visited jails in outreach programs and trustees were in all the halls. The cost of that button versus the costs of the lawsuit that would follow a successful attack is quite small.

Very good point about the lawsuit. Personally, I think she belongs in a psych ward, to be examined by a shrink other than her regular one. And for godssakes, take away her car keys!

Fox news channel’s Red Eye at 2-3 AM this morning. A panel of columnists and comedians, really funny. Big topic was, of course, Paris, and what her medical condition could possibly be. I laughed so hard I cried. They wondered if she had herpes and had lost control of her bladder...having a nervous breakdown. Would she hang herself with her hair extensions? How would she write in her diary when they’d probably deny her a pen or pencil.

You just might be right, and it might also save other lives, too...people she could have hit with her car. The son of a friend of mine is serving a long, long jail sentence for speeding and slamming into another car...young family. The wife and unborn child died. You can’t imagine the grief. But Paris isn’t 18 or 20, she’s 26, well past time to grow up.

Paris doesn’t have a “panic button”.

They talked about this button on FNC yesterday. She is in one of just a few rooms that DOES have a button, and she kept pressing it. They said she was disrupting the guards by doind so. She pressed it a lot, I guess, based on the conversation.

Not really, just a person who is interested in seeing that the law is applied equally. I’m more man about Libbys jail sentence vs Sandy Burglar for example.

Thank you for summing up so well what it's really about.

I'm not naive enough to think that wealthy people didn't get better breaks than poor people from time immemorial, but we used to at least PRETEND we had equality under the law. I don't admire hypocrisy either, but when people felt the need to maintain the pretence of equality under the law, there was a lot more equality under the law.

Starting with the Clintons it was made clear that most of the political class were above the law. Now most famous people seem to think they should be above the law, too.

I have no resentment against wealth, fame, or power--only the misapplication of it.

She being kept away from the general population in a large room. It’s a better room than solitary. They compared it to a motel 6 yesterday.

I think she should have her choice of private room or general population.

I’m ashamed to say I laughed at that comedy program on Fox, and at the same time had very mixed feelings. She doesn’t deserve public humiliation, visceral dislike if not hatred. The media created her, and we have nobody to blame but ourselves. She kept getting positive reinforcement, money, endorsements, whatever. Another thing is the group around her, most probably afraid to tell her to straighten out her life. Yet last week when she said she wanted to do her time in county jail, to be an example to other young people, I was proud of her.
