Illegal Mexicans in meat packing plants mad about not getting their cadillac welfare plantation? Or taking a dump in our spinach?

Mexico is not a friend of the United States and never has been. Think about this: Mexican nationals cheering Osama Bin Laden at a soccer match with the USA or carrying signs that glorify Osama Bin Laden in protests over US immigration laws...

Think about things Americans do in large numbers at the same time...

If Islamic terrorists were to poison lots of turkeys just before Thanksgiving, what do you think would be the result? How many Mexican nationals work in those poultry processing plants???

Pitch it. It’s not worth it taking the chance on it being bad.

don’t think you can cook ecoli out of it.

Told another poster that I'm calling Stater Bros tomorrow. I don't want me or my family dead, or deathly ill.

It's getting to where you don't know what's safe to eat.

Amazing. The FDA doesn’t hesitate to do this to an American company, but Chinese seems to be off limits.

*sigh*

5.7 million pounds of fresh and frozen meat that may be contaminated with E. coli.

Perhaps this would be a good time to ask the "D'OH!" question.

Since the object of the safe foods' exercise is to prevent human deaths, correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't irradiation prevent the onset of the illness?

Just asking. ®

I do remember those days. It was SOP to buy meat from a butcher, fish from the fishman and fruits and veggies from the produce man.

Than came chain stores.....

I agree. And to head off the posters that will jump in and scream tinfoil, here is the thread from the NONAIS group that I work activism with:

USDA Identified as Terrorists
This morning we got the following comment on the article “VT Premises ID Killed”:

Thanks Vermont, for opening an avenue for those that wish to use animal diseases as a bio-eco-terrorism tool. We would have tried to start along the SW border but that’s now just to obvious. Thanks! We’ll take the NE corner and work our way in that way.

my father was a farmer and he watched the development of the u.s. dairy and beef cleanliness standards in the early 20th c.,

and the decline of these standards beginning in the 1980’s when the big meat processors eliminated their american union employees

and replaced them with illegals.

Behold the truth be told.

Well, there goes burgers - No. 3 on my food pyramid. I still have the potato chips, fudge, cigars and bourbon, though.

If I understand the problem correctly, any e coli bacteria that is commonly found on the surface of meats is killed during cooking. The problem occurs with hamburger. If the meat before it was ground had any e coli on its surface then the bacteria is ground up with the meat and spread throughout the meat product, not just on the surface. To kill any e coli inside the hamburger it must be cooked thoroughly, not just on the surface. If there is any pink inside the ground beef after cooking e coli may be there.
