Let's see if Al Gore can answer this one (Letter To The Editor)
National Post [Canada] ^ | Saturday, June 09, 2007 | Frederick Gall

Posted on 06/10/2007 8:59:55 AM PDT by canuck_conservative

In the matter of "greenhouse gases," carbon dioxide is, shall we say, the gas du jour. We should surely be up to date and knowledgeable on CO2, which is said to be forming a kind of blanket which prevents the escape of all this global heat to outer space.

So can I table the question: How does the carbon dioxide get up there?

Carbon dioxide is one-and-a-half times heavier than air. I doubt even Al Gore would try to challenge that. So why doesn't it just lie around at ground level like autumn mist, and, of course, choke us all to death?

Frederick Gall, Ottawa.

Not my letter, but something I've always wondered about, too.

CO2 is very slighty denser than air, but the difference is so slight that any movement of the air at all causes the two to mix.

How come when It’s Raining Men Al Gore stays perfectly dry?

Heat also causes gasses to expand, reducing density. If the exhaust is warmer than the atmosphere, it will rise until temperatures reach equilibrium, at least.

If you ever figure that one out about Carbon Dioxide, you can start working on how Freon, which is much heavier than CO2, ever made its way up into the Ionosphere and started destroying Ozone.

After all, Al Gore got his start in this climate change game with his “Ozone Hole” scam.

The troposphere (the bottom layer of the atmosphere extending upward from the surface for 6 to 10 kilometers) is well mixed due to turbulence caused by surface friction.

In the 70's, they told us we were entering an ice age. Since Al Gore has been running around opening his mouth, we now have a global warming issue.

Anybody besides me see the connection?

In order to stop the spewing hot air, maybe Al Gore needs to shut his mouth. That'll fix the global warming problem.

“How does the carbon dioxide get up there”

Easy; years before Bush, Cheney, and Rove, et al, planned the 9/11 attacks and before they secretly blew up the levees in N.O., Bush had a special machine built that sends the CO2 up there and warms the earth so he ruin the planet.

Stop questioning Algore and his vast knowledge augmented by his commendable, yet selfless attempt to prevent the end of humanity by the year 2050!

The man is a deity in his own right.

Are YOU smart enough to be able to determine the date of the destruction of humanity and the reason for it as Algore has so keenly been able to do? /s

Join the flock and give up your hard earned labor to Algore and save the planet!

Asking questions of disbelief just prevents Algore from being the Saviour of the planet. LOL!

CO2 is a component of air. It’s not ‘heavier than air.’ It is heavier than some of the other gasses that make up air.

This is true, but before Reagan feel ill, he gave them the idea. Kinda like SDI.

You should have changed your tag line to, ‘Trust in Gore, question everyone else.’

Al Gore is what was left after the best part ran down his daddies leg.

It is the hot gas out of Washibngton DC that is elevating the CO2. Gore has specified two types of CO2 I am waiting for his third type.

How could anyone with the common sense of a goose believe anything this Jerk-off says.

And thanks to Dubya's treachery, we are all going to be strapped with carbon credits and take our standard of living down a couple of notches. /s

Thank heavens Algore was there to see the demise created for selfish gain and will be able to save humanity before it is too late.

The man is a God.

The troposphere (the bottom layer of the atmosphere extending upward from the surface for 6 to 10 kilometers) is well mixed due to turbulence caused by surface friction.

And convective activity caused by the uneven heating of the Earth's surface plays a significant role, too. We glider pilots call 'em thermals, and, as such, that's where I got my name. I've seen grass, shingles, leaves, spiders (and webs), and many other "heavier than air" objects well over 5 km aloft thanks to thermal activity. I even once saw an ultralight airplane picked up about 5' off the ground, turned 180 degrees and gently sat back down, much to the amazement of all who watched and the guy sitting in the pilot's seat.

In fact, I'm headed out right now to explore for some of these some times elusive critters....wish me luck!

They can hardly predict the weather, correctly that is, more than a week in advance. And, he, Algore, is predicting 40 years into the future? What a moron, as are all of his followers!

Beacause all gases are soluble in all gases, and all gases are solutes of other gases.

Translation: all gases eventually mix equally in a ‘closed system’. At the molecualr level, Brownian movement does it. At the atmospheric level convection and winds do it.
