"...The number of people who dont want news from a woman was startling," Mr Moonves said of the audiences reaction to Ms Couric,... I bet the number of viewers turning off CBS because Katy is retaining water is staggering./sarc
Moonvess is an imbecile.

Im sort of surprised by the vitriol against her. When it comes to vitriol, Katie is all pitcher, she's no catcher.

Your moniker reminded me of an old, old, old joke
A Baptist was bragging about his four sons and stated that once he had another son, he'd have a basketball team.
Then the Catholic bragged about having 8 kids and with the ninth, he'd have a baseball team.
The Mormon quietly stated that he had seventeen wives and with his next wife, he'd have a golf course.

Typical liberal excuse. He makes a bad hiring decision based on his own personal biases and, when it doesn’t work out, he blames it on others rather than take responsibility for his own poor hiring and business decision.
To: mcenedo
It becomes obvious by following this CBS/Rather/Couric story that the MSM is in denial so bad it is pathetic. Hilarious, but pathetic.

Gee Wally, it couldn't be the fact that all the DBM/ENEMEDIA stories are EXACTLY THE SAME, could it?
Why buy flouridated tap water from them when it's all the same everywhere else?
Well Faux does have a little bottled water available occasionally. Hmmmmmm.........

If Couric ever said, “Senator Reid, some people think your land deal was a fraudulent attempt to evade taxes on a million dollar sweetheart deal..” I’d watch her.
It isn’t who she is, it’s what she says, that makes me not watch her. There are plenty of news shows I catch with female talking heads, but none of them are the Trotskyite Couric.

It's not quite the kind of hole I'm often referred to as by some on FR, but thanks for the laugh anyways!

.....its what she says, that makes me not watch her.....and, perhaps more importantly, as you cited, what she doesn't say.

The last time (really) that I watched network news in my house was when we had a B&W TV with rabbit ears and a selection of 12 channels (of which stations were on 4 of them).

Leslie Moonves, another worthless corporate executive. CBS News, same old leberal cr@p and I don’t care to watch people who have such an arrogant attitude and who think their $h!t don’t stink !
To: mcenedo
I can’t blame sexism for their bad ratings but I can blame crapism.

If Couric ever said, Senator Reid, some people think your land deal was a fraudulent attempt to evade taxes on a million dollar sweetheart deal.. Id watch her. Well, in fairness to Katie, if she did ever ask that question, it'd be the last time Reid, or any other Democrat, ever took a question from her, or for that matter ever occupied the same room as her.
Republicans allow themselves to be interviewed by people who despise them and are not interested in any answer that doesn't serve the purpose of undermining them.
Democrats don't, and they don't apologize for it either.

anchor he recruited to the network with a $15m annual pay package. It looks like Ol'Les is trying to smooth out a very bad business deal/call gone extremely sour and at the same time pass the buck!...you know the blame game mantra!
...it works every time...err, most of the time.

Leslie Moonves, CBS chief executive, on Tuesday suggested that sexist attitudes were partly to blame for the faltering performance of Katie Couric...strange then that the ratings for the show actually improved a bit when she first took over - those tuning in then must have known she was a woman if for no other reason than that her first name was Katie - once viewers were on to the way she slants and delivers the news they bailed, not being sexiat enough to stick around just because she's female......
