He's going to get sued out of the wazoo....and if he ain't working there's no way to get blood out of a stone.

Once you're in, you're in. There are plenty of things that can keep you from becoming a lawyer (you need to list pretty much everything you've ever done on the "Character and fitness" application to the bar). But most of those things that keep you from becoming a lawyer will not get you disbarred if you already are one.

Exactly. He realized the only question was regarding his “union card,” that he was dead politically, and if he lost ticket in NC, he could lose it everywhere.
He will not go to jail and disbarment is 50-50.

Exactly. I wonder how many tearful sleepless nights those mothers went through for their sons? Nothing will compensate them, but by golly, I want Nifong to pay a HIGH price for what he’s done. I want him to have to sell his house, his car, everything he owns of value to compensate them, since he damn near destroyed their most valued treasure - their SONS!

Honestly, capital punishment should be on the table for such abuse as far as Im concerned.
Agreed. Our free society is based on a system of justice that must be impeccable. The moment someone in power distorts justice for his own gain, setting himself up as God with the purpose of destroying the well-being and livelihood of others, he has renounced his humanity and should be treated like the threat to society that he is. Tyrants.....

I had a late lunch with my mother. She had been watching the trial and said she was crying when Reid talked about his father and then having to call his mother to tell her.
I hope this ploy of Nifong is too little too late. He cost those young men a whole lot more than a resignation can cover.

Sorry but the dumb-ass people of Durham who elected this turd to a second term are the ones who will have to eventually pay.

Hopefully this will make DAs around the nation stop and think about the consequences before deciding to push ahead on an unfounded case. Stuff like this and a cursory glance through the site for the
Innocence Project make me wonder how many innocent people end up getting rail-roaded.
To: HamiltonJay
Honestly, capital punishment should be on the table for such abuse as far as Im concerned.
While prosecutors like Nifong are working cases and with-holding evidence, I'll be opposed to capital punishment.
To: Brytani
Has he resigned, or did he say that he WILL resign? The latest headline says “Nifong to Resign.”
I’m asking this, because he might still try to hold out until his pension comes along.
This guy is already a certified liar many times over. He hasn’t resigned until he signs the papers, I suspect. I don’t think it counts if you just say it, especially if you say it in a way that can be parsed, to borrow the clintonoid usage.
