There are plenty of things that can keep you from becoming a lawyer (you need to list pretty much everything you've ever done on the "Character and fitness" application to the bar). I had a late lunch with my mother. She had been watching the trial and said she was crying when Reid talked about his father and then having to call his mother to tell her.

Hopefully this will make DAs around the nation stop and think about the consequences before deciding to push ahead on an unfounded case. Stuff like this and a cursory glance through the site for the Innocence Project make me wonder how many innocent people end up getting rail-roaded.
