Bush : We need that money for "mis amigos".

They'll be the only friends he has left. Going to be lonely in retirement there, Señor...

Give him some credit, at least he is threatening to veto.

Would that make a grand total of 2 or 3?

Eternally hopeful.
G.W. for sure took notice and registered the people’s pulse.
Question? ...when did this conversion take place?

George W. Bush
Get Out Of
Cheney's House!,
Sure seems like it's coming to that, doesn't it?

While never a fan of the Dubya or his father, I never imagined it would come to this.

head shaking.

LOL! Bush vetoing spending! Thanks for the laugh. It’s been pretty humorless around here lately.

I’d sure feel a lot more secure with Cheney in there right now then this guy.

Cheney seems to have disappeared again, I can only take that to mean he’s not interested in peddling the President’s latest brainchild...

And that “other” bill is why the President is trying to bribe us with ONE solitary VETO so we’ll forget about all the money it’ll cost us to enact his amnesty let alone destruction of our culture and jeopardy of our borders. He’s so transparent.

I just read five minutes ago another thread that said Bush is sending an American hospital ship with a staff of 500 on a twelve deployment to Latin America for good will. How much of a border fence could that pay for. Also could we use that same money here at home for our elderly and our poor.

“Did anyone ever find out what New Orleans did with their share they got before Katrina???”

No, but the Dept. of Homeland Security has just announced that they “overpaid” Katrina “victims” at least $458 million, and they are having a hard time getting the grifters in LA to repay their ill-gotten gains. Well, duh! I wonder how much of that has ended up in Wm. Jefferson’s freezer.

Ditto on that.

Cheney seems to have disappeared again, I can only take that to mean he’s not interested in peddling the President’s latest brainchild..

.It was announced on the 8th that his defibrillator needed replacement. The second time for this type of surgery is rougher. At least it was for my dad. So, more than likely he's recuperating, not hiding.

Just reading the title of your post had me reeling with laughter. Mr. RR bailed on Bush a couple of years ago for his profligate spending. It took a little longer for me. The immigration issue was my “tipping point”.

maybe.

But Cheney wasn’t too supportive when the President picked Miers, I have a feeling he’s thrilled not to be involved in this latest stunt the Bush is pulling. you can always tell when he disagrees and is just going through the motions.

"The American people do not want to return to the days of tax-and-spend policies," Bush said in his radio address.

As opposed to his "tax-cut and spend" policies? He has done absolutely nothing to combat runaway spending for 6 years. In addition, now Bush cynically proposes $4.4 billion for "border security" to be funded for by "dues to be paid by future illegals seeking citizenship", which we know will never happen (and hence neither will the $4.4 billion). Meanwhile he paid $500 billion to Iraq right out of the general treasury.

$4.4 billion in Monopoly money for securing our border VS. $500 billion in cold taxpayer cash for Iraq. Is this what we went door to door to elect in 2004?

Oh, I didn’t say I disagreed with you, just that he had a reason to be out of the news. I agree that he has distanced himself before by his silence.

Can he make that veto retroactive?

Because runaway spending didn’t just happen recently.

I would say that $458 million dollars is a Conservative estimate.

No pun intended.

The message here is,

If you don’t vote for the immigration bill I will veto your bill when it comes to my desk.
