Polls inherently simplify often complex issues, but this one does so in a Big Way.
I agree with your answer.
My clearly novice opinion is that homosexuality seems to be something like alcoholism or other addictions. As such, switching away from it is a very difficult and lengthy process, and likely not successful for everyone who attempts it.
I agree 100%!
Choose any behavior in the world, anything man can dream up with his own perversion of free will. Can he change ANY of them? To claim he can’t is to refute that man is responsible for his own behavior, he has no free will.
< considering implications of this statement>
“Why would it be any of my business?”
Because, the homosexual activists do not care if it is any of your business or not, they are MAKING it your business. They insist you know about things that should not be discussed in mixed company much less with children! AND they insist upon special rights that take your rights, by enacting them.
Anne Heche did it.
Well, yes. Many have done so. What do you think AA and other such programs are about?
“Youve bought into the lie that homosexuality is the equiv of a race, gender. It is a behavior, a deviant behavior. They may define them selves by this behavior but it is a behavior.”
Well, I have to disagree with that. I think they’re gay whether or not they engage in any behavior. It is the desire to have sex with someone of the same gender that makes them “gay”.
I very much doubt it is a choice.
I think that is likely correct. While I think the evidence shows that there is a hereditary factor (i.e., not all people could be homosexual if they wanted to), I think it also shows that there is some external, environmental trigger that sets off the predisposition (i.e., not all who are geentically programmed to be homosexual are homosexual.)
Well, they hve been lying and distorting so long that I'm not sure the capacity is there anymore, or if it is, it's buried so deeply that they would neer be able to find it.
But there are some people who are suddenly skeptical when one claims to be ex-gay. They don't believe the ex-gay claim, they don't believe the ex-gay testimony nor their declaration that they are ex-gay.
When somebody uses a certain standard to measure the credibility of what one group says, but then refuses to use the same standard to measure the credibility of what another group says--thereby ignoring the claims of the second group (ex-gays)--he should ask himself why he believes one group and not the other... This is a double standard.
How about this for a follow up? If you responded Yes to the question, would you let your duaghter a men who had changed his orientation?
It is a behavior but they won’t admit it was their choices that led them to where they are. Our society currently says someone else is at fault. Whether an alcoholic or excon, once they stop blaming someone else, they are on their way to recovery, never easy though.
Unfortunately it is also true that many if not all homos have been molested. It is someone elses evil choice that has influenced the situation they are it. There may be genetic, environmental influences in a few cases but it is still a behavior.
Never forget that this is a behavior, nothing else. Do not be led astray by their lies.
If you think they don’t have a choice and they can’t help it, Then you have to be tolerant of a lot of other behaviors such as child molestation and we are already moving toward accepting that behavior. Why is smoking evil but homosexuality good? You have been convinced of this by the media.
“Never forget that this is a behavior, nothing else. Do not be led astray by their lies.”
But it’s NOT. Any more than it is just behavior that makes a person heterosexual... that is not true.
Jim McGreevy was gay during his entire marriage, that includes the times he was in the act of making children with his wife.
Sorry, I don’t think we are going to agree here. I don’t believe it is a choice, and I believe that there is genetic pre-disposition.
Of course, neither side can be proven. Just basing this on my talks with others.
Sorry, it should have read.
How about this for a follow up? If you responded Yes to the question, would you let your daughter date a man who had changed his orientation?
