From Malkin's website:

12:40pm Eastern update. Vote-switching weasel Sam Brownback should really just end his presidential campaign bid right now and stop wasting his poor staff’s time.

Reader Dave e-mails: “I think an enduring legacy of the vote will be a new nickname for the Senator from Kansas: Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Senator Sam Switch-back.

I really like that: Switch-back. Has a nice ring to it. I also like "Brownback McWeasel", but that's not nearly as creative and can be interchangeable with just about any name.

Subject: Progress On Securing The Border??
Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2007 10:17 am

Dear Senators,

Since S.1639 has been defeated, will the fence, vehicle barriers, and camera towers, previously approved, continue to be built??

As I understand it, only 2 miles, out of the 370 miles of fence previously appproved, have been built so far. If my memory is correct, 200 miles of vehicle barriers, and 70 camera towers, have also been previously approved.

Perhaps the administration, and the Senate, should heed the desires of the American people, and put these things on the front burner, and make sure they get funded, and built.

Could you please inform the American public as to the status of the above, and what the construction schedule might be. As you can probably tell by our response to the Immigration Bill, we really are concerned, and we do want to know.

Thank You.

Sincerely,

Has anyone heard any more about the House Immigration Bill?

It sounded like one I would support - Border Security and Enforcement...

That’s because we’re so used to seeing Republicans be duped by Democrat tactics. In this case, however, the GOP outsmarted the Dems.

I have to wonder how old you are as you are writing some very bizarre statements in this thread.

Do you not realize that this was a bill that was championed by the Republicans? If there is any doubt about this at all, you need to look and see who worked so hard to revive it. The answer isn't democrats but George Bush, Trent Lott, John McCain and Kyl. Those guys are all republicans.

This was a win-win situation for the democrats.

I guess I’d worry that security screening measures that exist around senators would significantly hinder or prevent my appreciation gift getting through in good measure.

I’ll be just sending letters myself, but for those who want to do more, perhaps a donation to a worthwhile cause, or gift to a hospital etc. would go further....then let your senator know how you made the gift or donation to honor their wise decision.

Just one thought....

You have to stop sounding like a dimwit troll.

Reid is the MAJORITY LEADER. He would’ve gotten “credit” had this monstrosity passed, ergo....

You better check again regarding how many defections old Harry had.

It’s hard to tell who’s the bigger loser, realtive to this vote, Bush or Reid.

They appear to be in a race to see who can get 0% approval ratings first.

Graham is toast and I suspect he knows it full well. He has kissed enough DC behind (I'll leave it at that) to prepare to leave office with some good prospects of being a media talking head, you know, the Republican expert who always seems to take the leftist side, a la Gergen.

Lindsgay Grahamnesty got to Washington and decided he liked it a lot more than "hayseed" SC. Fool.

It's an excellent suggestion.

Over on LGF, there's a cloture thread going. A poster in San Francisco says it looks like a protest is starting, but it's unclear yet whether it's the janitor's union or amnesty protesters . This could be an interesting next few days at the very least.

What..my bill? Bawahaha! I think you should get all the credit for it pal. Sovereignty and the rule of law just has too big a price tag these days it seems. Someone will pay in the end though.
