Actually, the reason that I think it’s important to remember the one’s that led the fight (obviously, there were others, as well) was that I was unaware that it was such a small cadre.

I was generally surprised by the frankness of interviews with Sessions and Vitter. They pretty much said that they were fighting senior leadership; Trentt Lott threatened to take them out behind the shed and even Mitch McConnell offered little in the way of encouragement.

You have to give it to the Dems in this last election cycle, they really took the wheels off the conservative wagon when they took out Santorum and Allen. It’s good to see these young leaders blossom on the vine. It gives one hope.

Now if we can just unload the likes of Lott, McCain and Graham!
