Controversial Statue of Fallen Navy Seal Unveiled (gun was controversial!)
Fox 31 ^ | July 4 | Staff

Posted on 07/04/2007 12:26:20 PM PDT by PghBaldy

The city of Littleton will unveil a controversial statue honoring a fallen Navy Seal.

Danny Dietz was killed in Afghanistan.

His family here in Colorado raised enough money to put up a bronze sculpture in Berry Park, to honor him and other war heroes.

Earlier this year some neighbors objected to the statue because it shows Dietz holding an automatic rifle.

The ceremony unveiling the statue was scheduled to happen at 11:00 a.m. MDT Wednesday morning.

You know - IF ANYBODY (OTHER than the two homosexual Satanists who were shooting people!) had an assault rifle at Columbine, the many Christians who were being shot would have been saved.

Up in Magog, Quebec, there's a beautiful bronze statue of a Canadian WWI soldier carrying an Enfield 303.

It's so detailed it looks as if the soldier is going to take a step forward, and as if the Enfield is ready to fire.

My grandfather went up to Canada to enlist to fight in WWI as the US Army wouldn't take him due to a repaired hernia.

He was a civil engineer in the Canadian Army.

Any time one wants to see what his uniform and gear looked like, just have to drive up to the center of Magog.

The morons in Littleton CO who can't stand even the likeness of a gun need to get a life.

But guns are obscene pornography (to Leftists.) And based on Supreme Court precedents, there is no First Ammendment protection against pornography that is obscene--especially when it's easily seen by children.

The language of the First and Second Ammendments is absolute. "Congress shall make no law..." "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." The exceptions to those statements are all inventions of activist judges. Letting judges get away with such dishonesty gives them license to to do it again, whenever they wish, with impunity. We will suffer the unintended consequences of such judge-created exceptions ever more painfully as time goes on.

Rights that are not both equal and reciprocal have no solid foundation. Their internal logical contradictions eventually lead to their dissolution.

I guess if America were ever invaded thtey’d not want our troops our ourselves to defend the country.

Newsflash: Soldiers carry weapons. Without their weapons they’d just be playing dress-up.

GROW UP People.

Good grief.

My hometown has a war memorial statue of a soldier holding a rifle. At the base of the statue is a small garden area. The keepers of the garden occasionally spell out a word with the flowers. Back along it said “Peace.” Bad enough but they followed that a year or so later with “Recycle.” Not sure what that has to do with the theme.

I watched the unveiling of this statue today on FoxNews. It was fine, beautiful and very moving. Fox interviewed a young boy during the ceremony - maybe 10 to 12 years old - and he said he had no problem with the soldier holding a gun. This young man is more intelligent than those opposing the gun. God Bless our military and God Bless America.

Simple... Kill the Islamic Terrorists, put their bodies inside hogs skins, bury them and watch the flower bloom!

Maybe it's supposed to be like a beat your plowshares into swords kind of thing. Recycle your ipods, dell, phones, and the hardware on your skate boards into automatic weapons with laser sights -- that kind of thing.

or maybe not.

The reporter isn’t lying

The Internet, talk radio and cable news spread the word of some parents’ concerns about the planned bronze sculpture of Navy SEAL Danny Dietz holding his automatic rifle.

“There’s no middle ground here, and that’s unfortunate,” said Emily Cassidy, one of a handful of Littleton parents who say the statue with the gun should not be near three schools and two playgrounds at the southeast corner of South Lowell Boulevard and West Berry Avenue.

“We’re continuing to try to spread our
message,” Cassidy said. “The message is not against Danny Dietz, his family or the war. It’s location, location and the audience that will view it.”

Our church had our yearly celebration Sunday night and honored the fighting Troops and veterans and had flags and all the trimmings.

And the flag bearers marched in...in the front was a soldier carrying his weapon and in the back, another soldier with his weapon.
They stood in the front of our church...while the orchestra played our National Anthem.....
We do this every year!

Out of a thousand or so folks...no one complained.

I think this is a lie.
Americans....soldiers, 4th of July, explosions and weapons...
they all seem to go together...don’t you think? ;-)

BTW....thanks for posting the photo, of the Navy Seal statue!
God bless his family!
