>Iran may have messed with us one too many times in Iraq.<
That’s possible - however (just my opinion) this move is probably based on itelligence that there is about to be an attack on Israel and Dubya is making it very, very clear that such as attack will have a price tag.
To: tobyhill
this has been reported by some “alternative” media outlets the past couple of days. Now we see this hitting the MSM, like Reuters. 3 carriers is a lot of fire power and is a big message to send

and another thing, I wish Maliki would start ordering the arrest of every enemy propagandist, in disguise of reporters, that are only showing the 10% of Iraq that has serious security issues while ignoring the 90% that has businesses, jobs, shopping, theaters, etc.

This surrender is good nonsense didn`t start with Harry Reid. I`m reading a book about the start up to WW ll in which the author talks about a strategy of Pres Wilson, “Peace with out Victory”. Blows what little mind I have left.

Reid/Pelosi/Murtha/ad-nauseum whinings of cut-n-run, George-Bush's war, George-Bush's secret domestic spying program... this is all a ruse, to put Tehran into a false sense of security, while we put in place forces to remove the Iranian threats with a big surprise.

Just a small correction.......
Nimitz is CVN-68, the second nuclear powered aircraft carrier and the first of the class, which extends to the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77). CV-67 was the John F. Kennedy, the last oil-burner built and recently decommissioned.
Enterprise (CVN-65) is the first nuclear powered carrier, saw service all the way back to Vietnam.
The Navy must be staggering their carrier deployments, the last east coast carrier deployed was the Eisenhower, who returned last month.

Nope.
Iran is an unreliable host to the pre-Caspian pipeline the British Petroleum wants to build to complete it’s European energy grid.
It means big money for Turkey, too, who is newly joined to the EU and NATO, will be part of the invasion.
Note that the US has been systematically surrounding Iran since the Clinton administration, who actively invested US government money in the region of the Caspian Sea pipeline, the Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan pipeline. We have an airbase in Turkmenistan, Karshi-Khanabad. We have military in Iran and Afghanistan, and we are allies with the Arab states across the Gulf.
For this administration, Iran is toast and war with them is inevitable unless the White House completely changes its spots!

As a NATO force, I think Turkey is preparing to help with an invasion of Iran.
Iran and Syria are probably hoping to use Israel to lure the fighting away from them.

A military force that is not used is worthless.
A military force that threatens but isn’t allowed to carry through is worse than useless.

The Enterprise is relieving the Stennis. No big deal. Iran already knows this. Iranian P-3s are constantly in the air keeping an eye on us. We give Iran a “head’s up” whenever we transit Hormuz.
