You can add Mitt supporters to that list. Most of Hunter's people are good conservatives, backing a very good man. I don't have the time to rant about the Ron Paul loons.
Question for the group...Does anyone have any links to any stories, a few years back, when Fred was appointed as Roberts’ “sherpa” to guide him through the confirmation process in the Senate. I’m wondering if there was back then any speculation about Fred as a possible candidate for the WH?
I am no longer a registered member of the Republican party, I am a strong supporter and defender of "the Republic". And I am about as "constitutionally conservative" as a 61 year old, traditionally valued, country loving, war veteran can be.
Why am I telling you this?
Easy - this oft cited "right-wingnut" is 150% behind a Fred Thompson presidency. Personally, these days, I could care less about the Republican Political Party, but I do deeply care about our republic.
Mr. Thompson is the man this republic needs, in my most humble opinion!

Of course the difference between the Reagan and Hunter statements is context. Reagan spoke of a wall that was built for tyranny, while Hunter is speaking of a wall for protection and sovereignty.
Fred will be attacked by everyone who is afraid that he outclasses their chosen candidate. The Rudybots know Fred will annihilate Rudy once he officially joins the race. The Duncanistas know that Duncan's got a lot of problems of his own that they'd like to sweep under the rug, and that once these difficulties start receiving more press, then Fred will look to be the better conservative candidate by comparison. The Mittney Lyin's are ticked that Fred has zoomed past their candidate without having to raise and spend "record amounts of money". And RuPaul supporters will just reflexively attack anyone who doesn't want to roll the calendar back to 1930 so that we can see another Hitler rise without our doing anything about it.
That may be the real question to be answered.
I think what he's implying is that Fred opponents will always try to find some nonsense to use to attack Fred. If it's not one thing they can try to pin on him, then it'll be the opposite. Something has gotta work....
Which, of course, shows the desperation of the people who know Fred thrashes their chosen candidate.
