Do you really think Thompson would support abortion remaining legal if Roe was overturned while he was President? There is some reason to suspect that, yes. He has said throughout his career, right up to the current day, that he thinks abortion is a matter for the states, [IOW that the right to life is not an unalienable right] and that he would not criminalize it if he was a state legislator.

Well then, a post of his leadership examples would be in order, may be hard to find though, because he was exactly what the quote implies.*************
Perhaps "rumors" are enough evidence for you, but for me they are not.

Still too damned early. The whole country will be burned out on the election and no one will go vote.
Wait, we already have that.

Thanks for the ping - this is going to be bloody.

Your bashing of Thompson is a load of crap. Most conservatives would support overturnig Roe V Wade, which means abortion law would be up to the states as it always was before. There is no chance of a Constitutional amendment outlawing abortion, further there is no reason for a conservative to want to usurp their own state legislature's authority via the federal government.
It was one thing to demonstrate that Rudy is quite liberal, but "proving" that Fred Thompson is not a conservative is ludicrous.
To: WorkerbeeCitizen
Thompson doesn't have a military history.
Just saying.

Yet you insist everyone is insane and you are the genius?
One’s not a conservative in your book unless they are an isolationist or willing to strong arm the people over abortion instead of allowing the people to decide?
I believe you would be one of those right-wing extremists that give real conservatism a bad name.
To: WorkerbeeCitizen
I can understand your concern, however:
In September 1959, at the age of 17, Thompson married Sarah Elizabeth Lindsey. Their son Fred Dalton "Tony" Thompson Jr. was born in April 1960.[11] Another son and a daughter were born soon thereafter. While Thompson was attending law school, both he and his wife worked to pay for his education and support their three children
I don't think it is an issue for Thompson.

Fred Thompson is the only GOP candidate, or near candidate that appears to be willing to stand up for the 2nd amendment and the right of free citizens to defend themselves. For that reason, he is the only candidate on the the GOP horizon that I would consider voting for.

"I think that you have to realize that you're either going to drive 12 million people underground permanently, which is not a good solution. You're going to get them all together and get them out of the country, which is not going to happen . Or you're going to have to, in some way, work out a deal where they can have some aspirations of citizenship " -- Fred Thompson, Fox News' "Hannity & Colmes," 4/3/06)That statement does not endear me to him ---

Without the recognition of the personhood of the unborn, there is no basis for overturning Roe, much less outlawing it in the States. In other words, the lip service being paid by a majority of this presidential field is completely meaningless. Their claim to being pro-life is as meaningful as George W. Bush’s claims to being anti-amnesty.

You do Rep. Hunter a disservice with your insunuations that Thompson supporters are out to censor anyone who disagrees with them. I certainly am not. I just protest, mayhap too loudly at times, when folks post inaccurate information."
...so emotional. Thanks for further proving my point. It's not "inaccurate information." The facts about voting records are behind the link. There were no "insinuations," but there are quotes.

You have lots of rhetoric and false accusations, but you've got no facts. I have the facts. No bandwagon/herd of hysterical, screaming, insulting entertainment worshippers will choose the candidate I will vote for. Duncan Hunter is the only candidate I'm willing to vote for in the general election.
