University President Fired for Alleged Cover-Up of Student's Rape, Slay (Michigan)
Fox News via AP ^ | 7-16-07

The body of the slain student, Laura Dickinson, 22, was discovered Dec. 15 in her dorm room. At the time, university officials told her parents and the media that she died of asphyxiation but that there was no sign of foul play, despite evidence to the contrary.

It wasn't until another Eastern student was arrested in late February and charged with murder that her family and fellow students learned she had been raped and killed.

The accused student, Orange Taylor III, of Southfield, has pleaded not guilty to murder and criminal sexual conduct charges in Dickinson's death. He is scheduled for trial Oct. 15.

Many in the university's administration were accused of covering up the truth and endangering students to protect the school's image, which has been marred in recent years by tensions with faculty, students and the community.

Robert Dickinson, the young woman's father, said anybody implicated in the federal report "should probably expect the same" fate as Fallon.

"I fire my baristas if they do wrong," said Dickinson, who owns a coffee house. "The board of this school should do whatever they need to do. They need to follow the rules that they have set forth."

The board was expected to meet later Monday to discuss the case. Still undetermined was the status of Vice President of Student Affairs Jim Vick and Public Safety Director Cindy Hall. University spokeswoman Pamela Young said she couldn't discuss Fallon until after the meeting.

Howard Bunsis, president of the faculty union, said Monday that everyone involved in covering up information about Dickinson's slaying should no longer be working for the university.

"It's now time for the university to move forward," Bunsis

WRONG! Everyone involved in covering up information about Dickinson's slaying should be on trial for obstruction of justice.

Try acessories after the fact of Rape, and Murder, my friend. That would put them behind bars for life, and that is exactly what should happen here...

That’s what I thought. I wonder how many priors this guy has. He’s certainly earned the name “Orange.”

Gosh, how did I know that would be the case?

Am I racist? Or just applying knowledge based on experience?

I’m sure he’ll be charged with a hate crime too. /S

And those are just the state charges. Were this *my* daughter, I would also file true cause and complaint, requesting bench warrants for those individuals under RICO Act violations, which could, in theory, result in the death penalty (infowarrior isn't prone to play around with creeps like these...)

Is his nickname "O.J."?

"It's now time for the university to move forward," Bunsis

I had agreed with the first rational statement, until he put both feet in his mouth with the second...

Dump Bunsis, too.
Nobody should be able to move on from murder... or the attempt to minimize it's permanent grief to dozens of family and friends.

Move on indeed!

I’m guessing it is.

Fitting color for a man with a name like that, isn’t it? Since he will probably end up wearing orange for the majority of his life.

I agree with you completely.
It's sad that a responding poster made even the name of the place finally clear --Eastern Michigan University .

“I wonder how long the media will keep this around.”

I’m sure they’ll delve into it about as intently as this:

I do not see how the president thought he could get away with it. The truth was obviously going to come out.

this blaming the university and making a big deal out of "hiding the murder" by the MSM is just so they don't have to announce once again that a black guy raped and killed a nice college girl in her own room.....

of course, the university acted immorally, unethically and irresponsibly, and you ask yourself why and we know why.....

Probably not longer than one news cycle. The story is not politically correct.
