More likely is the ark is either a metaphor or metaphor or some verbal legend of a catastrophic localized flood in the Black Sea, Persian Guld, or Mediterranean Sea.

I know, I know, I am going to get flack from the biblical literalists. But aren't these the same people who also accept the New testament parables and the Book of Revelations with all of it's metaphors.

Well; i don’t believe in that alternate site as opposed to “the Ararat Anomoly” becuase of a few facts/evidence”

1) The eye wittness reports on Ararat itself lend crdence to it as the “Ark” site

2) The shape of the “boat” on Ararat as opposed to that alternate site: There have been tests done on models and the “ararat anomoly” is sea-worthy in waves up to 40+ feet, unlike the traditional “boat” shape of the alernative site which I don’t believe would work as well.

3) The dimensions while both as long as 40 cubits or such, a recangular “barge” seems it would have more space for the 2-of-every-kind of animal than a traditional triangular boat shape.

4) There is clearly something on Ararat, even petrified wood by some accounts. Photos show windos even!

5) The alternative site somewhat resembles other rock formations in the area (could it be the ark..possibly, but I think its more like “on Ararat”)!

See The Ark of Noah by David Fasold. He's since said he doesn't believe any of it, but he's pulled together a very large amount of data that goes directly to most of your points above. Did you know that some of previous seekers of the Ark, who believed it to be way up on top of a volcano, dynamited this other site which has a lot more archaeological evidence to suggest it to have been a very large boat, including extremely large drogue stones. However, some have said that the stones were nothing like from Mesopotamia from which Noah was supposed to have come.

Does anyone ever take into consideration that the Bible originally doesn’t actually say the ark landed on ‘Mount Ararat’ but the ‘Mountains of Urartu’ (ie the entire range, not the specific mountain named Ararat (the Turks actually name it Agri Dagi.)

Well I've pointed this out before, but nobody takes any notice, so the answer to your question is "no".

Does this book adress the various sightings of an Ark on Mt. Ararat itself..? The fact that as this article (link to this posting) that there is testimony of men entering the Barge and cages for animals found, not to mention the pictures seen of “the anomaly” on Mt. Ararat..I belive this to be the ark, there seems to be difintive proof, if someone can ever get permission to go on the Mountain and excavate/take photo. physical evidence!

A lot of BS. In order to have an Ark, you need to have had a Flood. No such Flood happened 4000 years ago. There would be evidence consistent with universal flooding that would be recognizeable from known characteristics of floods that actually did happen.

Sumer ran from 5507 to 4341 YBP
Indus Valley ran from 5502 to 3707 YBP
Egypt ran from 5502 to 2350 YBP

After studying the bible for a couple of years now, I agree. The bible is simply full of analogies, metaphors, and parables.

There are flood legends all over the world. It is clear that gigantic floods occurred in many places, and we see geological evidence of gigantic floods, floods covering tens of thousands of square miles. The entire Mediterannean basin may have quickly flooded, but it appears to have done so 5 million years ago. There was an enormous flood that covered large areas of the great plains in North America, following a breakup of a gigantic ice dam as the glaciers melted.

What we do not see is geological evidence of a flood that covered the entire earth, with no land at all. To someone in the middle of one of the gigantic floods, it might have appeared so.

There is also the controversial proposal of a Black Sea flood.
