Moonbats, like Chickens, Come Home to Roost

ITHACA, NY--Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) is offering a House resolution to censure President Bush and Vice President Cheney. However, it may not be enough for his far-left supporters.

His resolution will say that Bush and Cheney made intentionally false statements about Iraq’s possession of weapons of mass destruction and misled the public into believing Saddam Hussein had ties to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda. …A second censure resolution will deal with a warrantless surveillance program, policies regarding torture and detainees, politically motivated firings of U.S. attorneys, and issuing presidential signing statements….

Hinchey’s resolution is seen by many as a sop to the fringe elements in his district, which includes the city of Ithaca, who are demanding that the President and Vice President be impeached. Earlier this year, the Ithaca City Council voted in favor of impeachment, despite objections of some that it was a waste of time, taxpayer money and outside the City’s jurisdiction.

The censure measure, however, may be insufficient for the extremists in his district, especially given Hinchey’s prior promises to have Bush and Cheney impeached:

[Hinchey] said last year to an applauding audience, according to the Ithaca Journal, that impeachment proceedings should begin once the Democrats take over the House.

As a result, at least one local newspaper, the Ithaca Times, is asking “whether Hinchey is ‘letting down his base,’ by not being one of the co-sponsors of House Resolution 333, sponsored by Ohio Congressman and presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.”

While Hinchey is, in some respects, a minor player in Congress, he is not alone in his troubles with his Democrat “base.” Congressional Democrats nationwide, including House House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, have recently come under fire by far-left radicals, such as Cindy Sheehan. These radicals, reports indicate, feel betrayed by the Democrats for not immediately surrendering in Iraq and for not having begun impeachment proceedings, as promised in the run-up to the 2006 election.

This sense of betrayal, is in many ways, the Democrats’ own fault. The radical left was courted and praised by the Democratic leadership when it was seen as a way to regain power in Washington. But now that the Democrats have that power they find themselves at the mercy of those same radicals, demanding their promised payback.

” Bush and Cheney made intentionally false statements about Iraq’s possession of weapons of mass destruction and misled the public into believing Saddam Hussein had ties to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda.”

1. Censure is unconstitutional.

2. Bush and Cheney did not lie and Saddam had direct communication and ties to AQ.

3. Congress approval rating = 14%

4. LOL :-)

Madeleine Albright February 1, 1998

"We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and the security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction."

Bill Clinton February 17, 1998

"We have to defend our future from these predators of the 21st Century.... They will be all the more lethal if we allow them to build arsenals of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons and the missiles to deliver them. We simply cannot allow that to happen. There is no more clear example of this threat than Saddam Hussein."

John Kerry February 23, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has already used these weapons and has made it clear that he has the intent to continue to try, by virtue of his duplicity and secrecy, to continue to do so. That is a threat to the stability of the Middle East. It is a threat with respect to the potential of terrorist activities on a global basis. It is a threat even to regions near but not exactly in the Middle East."

" Bush and Cheney invented a time machine and forced Democrats to make intentionally false statements about Iraq’s possession of weapons of mass destruction and misled the public into believing Saddam Hussein had ties to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda.”

there fixed it

You really do have to give the Dems some credit. They have made up a story (Bush Lied), pushed it and pushed it in the MSM and have put it into the history books and the hearts and minds of a majority of the American public. And now they want to take that made up story and use it to impeach.

Like I said. You have to give them credit. This a case study in how to run a successful propaganda campaign. It has been effective. It has worked. It has elected Democrats.
