I'm not going to call Bill O'Reilly a liar... yet, but... on his TV show today, he read off a laundry list of ridiculous "hate" statements like "I hate blacks," "Hillary should be assassinated" and "homosexuals are dogs" that he said he personally found on Free Republic and claims that they were posted here today. I do not believe that. I doubt that he personally logged on to FR and I doubt he found any such thing posted here today.
Who knows what we may have missed and is buried deep in our archives of millions of posts, but our readers do a pretty good job of alerting us to anything out of bounds that is posted and we pull it. Also, one of our readers found a couple of the quotes he alleges, and if they are the ones O'Reilly is complaining about, he took them way out of context. They were simply quotes in the articles posted not statements posted by FReepers.
As soon as he provides me a list of the alleged posts and their URLs, I'll believe him. If he doesn't... then... well, guess he'll deserve to be known as what he is.
On the 1874548th thread posted, with hundreds of responses to most threads (some in the tens of thousands) the best BOR could come up with is a 6 year old quote from an article (”homosexuals are dogs”) and a more recent quote, (”I hate blacks”) also from an article, to cite against us to prove how “hateful” we are.
Jim, you should be proud of your site. That is a spectacular run of clean, honorable, decent posting. Kudos.
kristinn, you should be proud of yourself for even bothering to show up on the Factor. BOR didn’t really want someone there to debate, he just wanted someone there to scold. You were dignified in the midst of his set up, and you done us proud. Kudos to you as well.

O’Reilly has a message board for “premium members” on his website. I guess someone could theoretically go there and post the most vile thing imaginable about black people and send the proof of its existence on the website to every black group in the country while asserting that the comment is indicative of O’Reilly himself. I wonder how he would react to that.
Your right, but the funny thing is. I got really fed up with BOR during the last election and seldom watch him anymore. I watch something else during his hour then turn on Fox when it is time for Hannity. haha BOR just made too many stupid comments that were not how a conservative would say or think for me.
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt.
However, after his treatment of the Swift Boaters,
and now this, he won’t have my support again.
But, if he’s sliming FR like this, on the public
airwaves, there may be repercussions.
I hope he can back up his assertions.

It appears that she’s trying to say that we’re the ones tossing the name-calling and accusations around. BTW, my list of quotes from the bandwagon is much longer now.
Off-topic, but I should respond. “Rudy” is doing well everywhere else but FR. We (the Mayor’s supporters) understand, and have come to grips with it. House rules.
P’s “smearing” of Senator Thompson, in relief of what happened around here in March and April doesn’t even move the needle. In retrospect, it’s largely just Spring Training versus what Hil, the MSM, and the DNC are going to throw at any nominee.

He better do SOMETHING in the way of a retraction. FReepers are amongst the worst people to slander. We are intelligent, and we do our homework. And Bill’s boss has deep pockets : )

BTW, I lived most of my life in the “south.” ...put some earplugs in and moved west a few years ago. It’s peaceful here for me, because the lefties think I’m such a “neanderthall.”
