I am warning those who have not finished the series . . . and there must be still a few of them by now. . . that there are spoilers ahead. I have just finished the last book . . . having spent an enjoyable evening with it thanks to Sam’s Club and an indulgent wife.
I am done with Harry Potter and enjoying the literary aftertaste the way one enjoys a fine meal almost as much after it is done as when it is being consumed . . . though it is a bit sad that the series is finished.
And it is really finished . . .
Will one be able to re-read the books with pleasure?
I think the answer is only a tentative “yes.” If one knows the “puzzles” and “the secrets” of the book, it will not take away the charm of the characters or the fun of a good Quidditch match, but the first read will always be the best.
The strength of these books is in the plot and the second read, when everything is known, will be satisfying for finding all the clues to what happens . . . but I am hard pressed to know if I will want to re-read them a third or fourth time.
A really great book is as good on the fourth read . . . and some children’s books (Little White Horse) are better.
I deeply enjoyed the last book and thought the ending satisfying. For those who found them quite Christian, they will find much in this last book to give strength to their idea.

It's very true. I have a friend who is a triplet, and she took Fred's death really hard. Even harder than I did, and he was one of my favorites. It just hit a really soft spot for her.
Is that something like buying music from Napster?
1 - non sequitur, since there isn’t that stuff in the HP books God’s opinion on such stuff doesn’t apply
2 - more of the same non sequitur, that bad stuff isn’t there so it’s potential “effect” on the audience is non-existent
3 - more of the same, there aren’t occult images and suggestions
4 - more of the same, HP isn’t evil, and saying it over and over doesn’t make it so, if repetition made a lie truth then there really would be global warming and the Clinton presidency would have been the most honorable of the 20th century
5 - Laughably idiotic and, like everything else on that site, completely without truth or proof
6 - Always a favorite of the “it’s evil” crowd, “it’s an inner change”, basically an argument that just exists to allow the arguer to ignore the millions of people who’ve done just what they say you shouldn’t and suffered none of the consequences they insist are inevitable, it’s the worst kind of paranormal pseudo-logic that allows them to insist they’re right even after they’ve been proven wrong
7 - Absolutely ridiculous, the idea that action figures making something a belief system is just silly
8 - Utterly false, there is no implied source behind Harry’s magical feats and there are no occult practices, we’ve been over this you should stop quoting liars, isn’t there something in Revelations about the appearance of liars claiming to do God’s work? Well these people are lying like politicians 10 points down in the polls
9 - Wow do they ever pile up the silliness, of course it’s no surprise they started with a false assumption (and we all know about ass-u-me don’t we) and then put a bunch of logical fallacies on top of it

So just like your other stuff your “proof” proves nothing, is from a source that demonstrably knows nothing about HP or the occult. And you push it forth like it has meaning when it clearly does not. No surprise there, sadly enough. The condemners never bother themselves with silly things like truth, logic, research or knowledge, they just spew lies and repeat them.

In trying to protect Harry from a psychic attack on his life by Voldemort, Harry's mother took the attack on herself and she died. When she took on the full brunt to the attack, she absorbed most of the energy. Harry absorbed some to the knowledge of Voldemort, but when the energy returned to Voldemort, it destroyed his body. That is why, in book 1, we see him as a psychic vampire -- he needs to have a host body. |
Rowling gives a perfect description of the difference between demons and fallen angels on the physical plane in this example of Voldemort. She writes that Voldemort once had a body, then he didn't now he does when he attaches himself to other people. This is the way demonic entities exist in the physical world. They need a physical body in which to manifest. Angels, holy or fallen, do not need physical bodies to manifest -- they can make their own bodies on the physical plane. When occultists repel a psychic attack, they absorb some of the knowledge of the individual that attacked them. In Harry's case, he absorbed the ability to speak snake (and other special capacities) from Voldemort. |

Well, since they're written as FICTION, they're not supposed to be the truth. I certainly don't get confused between fiction and non-fiction.
So which website did you (once again) block quote this from, in your continuing lame attempt to prove something or other?
Why did they choose the back side of the HP table and why did they put it directly in the entrance to the children's section?
