Repeating the lesson of Vietnam one more once:

The US won every military engagement and were never militarily defeated on a field of battle.

It was the 5th column that defeated the US soldier.

Occupation and nation building CAN be part of an offensive operation. In the US invasion of N. Africa in WWII, we deposed and installed governments.

The issue is having such a clear understanding of one’s ultimate mission that one doesn’t allow the sideshow to become the main show. We knew the target was Berlin, even though we were temporarily cruising the land of the dromedary.

Because RINO is usually used to refer to stealth democrats in republican clothing.. But it can used as you suggest.. Actually ALL republicans are republicans in name only.. because it just a name.. RINO refers to a stealth agenda.. a posuer, a shill.. a fake.. a phoney.. a MOLE.. You know like John McLaim.. Linsey Graham.. or maybe George Bush.. the leader of the WHite RINO House.. I have heard GWB refer to America as a democracy many times but NEVER a Republic..

LOL! OK, so the libertarians get to determine who the real Republicans are? Do the protestants get to tell us who the real Catholics are, too? I don't know where people get the notion that they get to define what a "real" Republican is. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican near the inception of the party and he is about as far from libertarians as you can get. And as I recall from another thread it, Ron Paul and John McCain get the same conservative rating. If you want to rate candidates by how well they adhere to your interpretation of the Constitution, that is fine. But don't presume to tell us what a "real" Republican is when your guy adopted the party label solely because he couldn't win as a libertarian.
