This is my personal comment and not a statement on behalf of Jim or FR:
The moderators do a great job of holding up the standards that Jim has set for Free Republic. However, they need all of our help--in exercising our good judgment when posting and in hitting the abuse button when out of line comments are made.
We are not a politically correct site, however the posting guidelines need to be adhered to. The comments cited by O'Reilly are literally drops in the bucket of the millions of comments posted on FR and do not represent what FR is about. However, the better we take care of FR, the less chances we'll give people to pull stunts like O'Reilly did last night.
I want to thank everyone for the kind and supportive comments last night. It was not a 'fun' interview, but hopefully some good will come out of it.

Can we still use the term “islamic terrorism”?

The “homosexuals are dogs” comment is taken out of context. ....
That comment was posted two days ago and has also been removed by the moderators.
***Why remove it? If it’s taken out of context, that says it all about Bill O’Reilly’s standards.

So! What is the story on the "I hate Blacks" Line O'Reilly State on National Television?
If there is no link that is One Big apology he owes us.
To: kristinn
I didn’t catch this. Hopefully Bill did an equal segment on the kind of comments that show up at DU an KOS. Right?

This is a losing game. I’m been offended by many of the things I’ve read on here and I’ve probably offended many people on here.
To: kristinn
I don’t think O’Reilly understands the CONCEPT of trolling... I think he has no idea what it is.
For example, some of the phone calls he gets on the radio are clearly “radio trolls” — people just calling to get him angry, who don’t believe any of what they say.
To: kristinn
Nothing personal, but I would ban the “stray bullet” poster.

Kristinn, ya done good! Don’t worry about Bad Boyfriend Bill, he was waving ONE sheet of allegations around and I think we FReepers can handle that! It was a good appearance, keep up the fine work.

Per usual, Kristinn, you represented FR well. For BOR's minions to scour the millions of FR posts to come up with those examples and him to portray them as typical of FR says much more about who BOR is and what he's about than it does about FR.

The homosexuals are dogs comment is taken out of context. Exactly. "Dogs in the Manger" is a metaphor, from a fable. The American Heritage Dictionary defines it thus: "One who prevents others from enjoying what one has no use for oneself." This is NOT the same as calling homosexuals dogs.

Is it necessary to be a smart ass on a serious topic FR is trying to address?
