This morning only a couple of minutes before 5am, I was surfing around when I came upon Fox News. Bill O'Reilly was closing out his show with him reading off a few viewers emails and him giving a small response to each one. One of them defended FreeRepublic, saying that doing a search, Daily Kos had thousands of certain cuss words, and FR had none. O'Reilly's response to that was: "FreeRepublic Needs A Monitor. It Has None." (And then he moved on to another email)
"..Alan Novak, Wichita, KS: "Comparing the Free Republic to the Daily Kos, I searched the F-word. Daily Kos, almost seven thousand mentions. Free Republic, none.""
If I ever even hinted at how I really feel, my job later became toast. I hate being in the closet! I want to work somewhere I don’t have to lie about who I am. Maybe a mom & pop sporting goods shop?
And hey — I really don’t mind when you insult me!! LOL!
The feeling is mutual!
Kos should have some kind of warning for all the profanity and hatred on their site. I peeked and if I ever posted stuff like that I would expect to lose my account. Maybe I should infiltrate and spread my filthy conservative views all over the place-heehee

My son teaches at an Ivy League school and he and I have a running joke about ole dad’s use of poor language skills.

I’d already been through many fights on non-political fora. Never been banned, but been through some nasty altercations on racing boards, dog boards, health boards, etc. - mostly not even politically/culturally related! Amazing how we fight over even crazy things. ;-)

I don’t know about your situation, but my situation is that BOR will never appear on my TV again. Ever. I used to watch him all the time, then it went to once in a while, and now to NEVER. Never again. I don’t care if he has the Apostle Paul riding a bicycle on a high wire over a flaming pit,I am not watching. Never.
Nope, not really. My job allowed no access to anything other than that which was related to work.
Upon coming home after dealing with people all day, I wasn't in the mood to find trouble on the net. My job was reliant upon being friendly and so I was!
Whew, now I can cut loose! just kidding. LOL

Like he never gives anybody a chance to explain - except when he gives some reprobate the “last word”. He’s just a taller, thinner Chris Matthews. Bloviating? You betcha!
Between O’Reilly and intestinal blockage - how do you tell the difference? Oh, right - O’Reilly has commercials from banks and the other one doesn’t. Got it.
O’Reilly bends over so far backward to appear “fair and balanced” that sometimes his head slips up his you-know-what. He spent over a week on the Jet Blue/Daily Kos issue (Kos is a vile hate site but that is liberalism for you) and now feels as if he has to add balance by bashing Free Republic.
He simply doesn’t realize how wrong he is. Sure sometimes questionable things slip on here but if the mods don’t catch it other posters usually flame away pretty good! We’re self-regulating for the most part.
