I was such a fan of Carlos Romulos — the first Sect. General. I had followed his heroics in WW11 and then into the new UN. He would roll over in his grave to see the ineffectiveness of the present UN. Personal greed and human nature. Why can’t some rise above them?

Dave Mustaine gets it. Why can’t George Bush?
The nature of man is to increase his lot. You pull a group of men together into a group and they will seek to make that group more successful. Now that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but when it comes to governance, I don’t know how we could ever expect an organization like the UN to forgo striving to solidify dominating world governance.
When something goes wrong, the UN is loathe to take action because to do so would be to admit it did something wrong. When there’s a problem they wait for it to go away on it’s own. Oil for food billion dollar misappropriations, wait for it to go quietly into the night. The raping of female children in Sudan, oh it will stop eventually, no need to take action. We can say it didn’t happen on our watch.
Some of the worst nations in the world send representative into our nation, to operate at will with impunity. How tragic.
It is sad to see something promising go south, but the UN certainly has. It’s way beyond time to close the thing down.
Is there a un ping list? If not, someone needs to start one.
