Violent crime is very closely correlated with the number of police officers on duty. It is not closely correlated with gun possession rates.

the reason there is so much violent crime in the city of Cleveland is, "too many guns are available to 'law abiding' citizens." Also, the reason there are so many DUI incidents in Cleveland is because there are too many cars avialable to those who don't drink and drive.
