Rep. Bob Filner (D-CA) was involved in an altercation last night at Dulles Airport. He was allegedly angered by the amount of time it was taking to get his luggage and tried to push his way through the United Airlines baggage claim office. The release below is from The Washington Area Airports Authority.

I hope that's the least of his legal problems! Forcing one's way into a restricted area of an airport where one has no authorization to be should get him hit with federal charges for deliberate interference with airport security. He should have left the airport in a police car and been held in jail until his late night hearing in front of a judge.

Well, I cannot assign any blame here. It is a miracle that there are not hundreds of homidicides at baggage claim. It is getting rediculous - I suspect that the airline folks are having a bunch of fun at our collective expense.
If it had been a Republican it would have been noted in the headlines.

Yeah, you’re one of 435 other undeservedly arrogant employees of people of the various districts of our country, and are up for re-election (losing your job) every 2 years.
I have been at the airport plenty of times and I know how frustrating it gets sometimes but it’s no excuse to assault or even lay a hand on anyone else.
In the immortal words of Ted and Patrick Kennedy, shouted at people in airports and other public places, where they were throwing their weight around.: “Do you know who I am!” (Yes, you’re a public servant.)
As touchy as everyone is in airports, he should have been immediately arrested for entering a restricted area.
You or I would have.
No matter how mad I have gotten at the airport(and I have), I would never dream of entering an area that is off-limits for fear of the repercussions. He should be hit really hard.
