Obama Names Republicans He'll Work With Aug 25 05:30 PM US/Eastern By BRENDAN FARRINGTON Associated Press Writer KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama often says he will be a candidate that will bring both parties together and Saturday he named a few of the Republicans he would reach out to if elected.

"There are some very capable Republicans who I have a great deal of respect for," Obama said in an interview with The Associated Press. "The opportunities are there to create a more effective relationship between parties."

Among the Republicans he would seek help from are Sens. Richard Lugar of Indiana, John Warner of Virginia and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Obama said.

"On foreign policy I've worked very closely with Dick Lugar," Obama said. "I consider him one of my best friends in the Senate. He's someone I would actively seek counsel and advice from when it came to foreign policy."

"Senator Warner is another example of somebody with great wisdom, although I don't always agree with him on every issue," Obama said. "I would also seek out people like Tom Coburn, who is probably the most conservative member of the U.S. Senate. He has become a friend of mine."

Part of Washington's problem is that President Bush has created a partisan atmosphere, he said.

"The Bush-Cheney administration has perfected the perpetual campaign, what I call the 50-plus-one election strategy, where you just presume half the country is red and half the country is blue," Obama said.

The country is not split...the Red counties far exceed anything the blue does.

Translation: "I'll work with the Republicans who think like Democrats."

This is the essence of what's wrong with this PC/MultiCulti CRAP--they talk "open minds" and "working together," but they only deal with people who see things as they do. The lie of this "we're open-minded, unlike you people who see things in b;ack and white" BS on display.

Personally I would rather have John than Mark Warner. But be that as it is likely irrelevant Hillary will be the nominee. I hate to say it but she will probably win(ouch).

Wedge politics.

Drive a wedge in the GOP to divide and conquer.

She will only win if the single Republican single issue voters stay home.

I would rather have full-blown Democrats up there than RINOs, making clowns of themselves and giving ordinary folks reasons to vote them out.

RINOs make trouble for conservatives. Democrats acting like jackasses cause people to wake up to smell the Marxism...before voting out the Marxists.

Keep going, dude. With any luck, Americans will be smart enough to figure out that anyone that ends up on Obama’s “reaching out” list is a Republican to vote out of office.

Susan Collins (Maine)
Chris Shays (Connecticut)
etc...

No mention of Hagel above the fold? I’m shocked! SHOCKED I tell ya...

I will add, if Teddy can stomach McCain, I’d think OBomDuh would find him an asset as well.

The pompous ass.
Obama has just delivered the kiss of death to some deserving RINOs who have had their covers blown...

Senator Warner - a Hollywood casting studio’s idea of what a Senator should look like — without brains, heads the Obama’s list of good guys..

Figures...

This is a horrible time to have the country being run by a bunch of damned a$$holes.

President Bush created a partisan atmosphere, he says? That’s a good one. When President Bush first took office he did everything but bake them a cake. They weren’t having any of it, they were so bitter over losing the power that they consider themselves to have a right to. They would have voted against Republican legislation if we could’ve made a law that no one would ever get sick again.
