I wouldn’t mind Tommy Franks as VP ... though I’m still rooting for a Fred Thompson/ J.C. Watts ticket.

I don't think that the Republicans need much help in the South, as good as Franks might be (and his political views on matters other than the WOT are completely unknown).

The GOP VP candidate should be someone who has been a congressman, since that usually worked, during the past 55 years. Five of the last six republican VP’s were U.S. reps. Those five were Dick Cheney, Dan Quayle, George H.W. Bush, Gerald Ford, and Richard Nixon. The exception is Spiro Agnew.
