Folks, isn't it time for the drag queen to exit the Republican presidential race and go back to her party scene in Manhattan?
I ask this with great seriousness.
Rue-Dee is simply delaying the inevitable.
A liberal in Liberace's clothing is not going to win the hearts and minds of religious conservatives.
A man formerly endorsed by Chuck Schumer and praised for his gun grabbing skills cannot be seriously expected to be embraced by the Republican base.
A man who hid behind his wife's skirt when challenged by Hillary Clinton for the Senate race in New York cannot be expected to take on Hillary in the heartland.
Folks, let us clear the race of riff-raff like Julie Annie and BuckLame and Con Small, and let the serious candidates (Romney, Hunter, Thompson) fight it out.
Yours truly,
GOP
NO! It’s past time!!!!!
Though I may agree, I will not stoop to name calling.
Wow, somehow name-calling is worse than cheering baby-killers and cavorting with cross-dressers...
That, or Homeland Security in the Thompson Administration.
Well said, speaking as someone in the shadows of NYC from across the Hudson.
My thoughts too. He has proven his leadership through a trial by fire. How many others in the running can say the same?
What???
This isn’t a published article?
I thought I read this in Newsweek or Time.
there two in the race and a host of pretenders.
the two are rudy and fred.
all else are already lost
The circus is a great American tradition too.
I just wish freepers would bash Democrats as much as they bash Republicans
Nope. Not even close yet actually.
Tossing Arafat out of Lincoln Center and going after that Brooklyn Museum with the elephant dung Madonna was enough to seal his leadership credentials with me. Fred better show me some real leadership and Reaganesque vision/public policy positions or my votes in 2008 (primary and general election) will be for Mr. Mayor. With no executive experience and disappointing fortitude as chairman of the Senate Campaign Finance Committee investigations, I remain skeptical about Fred but hope he rises to the occasion and helps me change my mind.
Why we are dignifying this lame "thread" with serious commentary may be a mistake, but I liked some of the responses I've seen here.
When Mitt Romney wins the nomination, we’ll buy you a new crystal ball.
“Guiliani was a great major of New York, but I would not want him as President. Hes wrong on abortion, gun control, and immigration. I very much agree with his stance on foreign policy and anti-terrorism, but that is not enough to be president given the competition.”
I agree. Mitt Romney would be a superior choice (great executive, lives family values) and Fred Thompson (conservative credentials) would be a superior choice.
Mitt, Fred, and Rudy are equally electable up against Hillary.
The guy has flaws. Geez, if I wrote all of mine down and handed the list to my wife she might scratch her head and wonder why she married me. That being said, you are measured as a whole person. Damn if he shines and leads when it counts. That is something you are born with. Like I said, I will never disrespect this man.
You forgot to mention the fact that he told the Saudi guy to keep his $10 Million, when he said we were partly to blame for the attacks.
How many modern day pols would do this?
Not many.
GIULIANI: ...Glenn, being an illegal immigrant, the 400,000 were not prosecuted for crimes by the federal government, nor could they be. I was U.S. attorney in the southern district of New York. So believe me, I know this. In fact, when you throw an immigrant out of the country, it's not a criminal proceeding. It's a civil proceeding...GIULIANI: ...My solution is close the border to illegal immigration.
GLENN: How do you do that?
GIULIANI: You do that by building a fence, a physical fence and a technological fence, and the technological fence is more important than the physical fence. The technological fence would alert you to illegals approaching the border well in advance so the border patrol can get there and stop them. You deploy the border patrol every 50 miles along the border. I've already outlined this on a map. I did this in detail about two weeks ago. And then you have the border patrol stop people from coming in, literally stop them from coming in. If you did that for a year or two, you would end it. You also have a tamperproof ID card that every person from a foreign country should have that comes into the United States. The goal has to be, yes, you're allowed to come to the United States but you have to identify yourself before we let you in, and we have to be sure you're a safe person. And then if you come in, you'll be in the computer base, you'll be able to work, you will have to pay your fair share, you'll have to pay taxes but we have to end it right at the border by having the resources to stop people from just walking into this country and not identifying themselves. Only the federal government can do this. If the federal government doesn't do this, there is no way that the local governments in this country can handle it other than in a practical way. If you make people that are just going to be here for the next 20 years, if you put them in a situation of danger and risk, you're going to have more crime in your communities..."
PS: There were 400,000 illegal immigrants in NYC when Rudy was Mayor. The Federal Government was deporting only 2500 illegals per year.
what makes guiliani unacceptable is HE WONT SHUT UP.
