I can honestly state that Canadians have not generally commented on the actions of Americans at their southern border. The general view of Canadians that I read of and know is this:
If we Canadians demand the right to accept or reject entry to Canada, then we indeed ENCOURAGE proper control of the borders. This for both countries.

Involved in the horrific torture murders with one Lake, I believe. Ng fled to Canada. He was arrested after shooting a security guard at a department store in the hand. He was shoplifting. He served two years.
Ok, ok so Americans did have a reason to get mad. The bleeding heart do-gooders did fight his extradition. The Americans might execute the dear boy, they bleated. Now here comes justice. A judge denied Ng's appeal and Ng's lawyers grinning,no doubt started to prepare papers to drag out more legalities.
The Canadian police had a helicopter outside the court. Ng was on his way to California, very quickly. He will rot in jail, but he has cost California 15 million dollars with his antics, using the legal system.
