Where are all the Ron Paul people coming from?
The Oregon Poll ^ | 9-20-7

Posted on 09/20/2007 6:40:58 PM PDT by Petronski

Over the last two days The Oregon Poll was seen by almost 400 "unique visitors," most of them in support of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. The majority of these people came from these two links on the web.

Tonight is a good night my friend. We bagged a troll, and have one less Paul 08’ spam infesting our threads everyday/night (possibly more).

Much more work to do, but break out the cigars.

Interesting. It’s a blogger post and treated as news. And the blog is only a few days old too. Oh but because it’s negative about Ron Paul it’s apparently alright. Hey if I start a blog that says Fred smells can I post it as news too?

I know of no data that supports libertarians ever supporting the Republican candidate in a general election. They generally do exactly what the ones on FR say they are going to do. Stay home and sulk if their candidate is not nominated.

Unfortunately the disaffected Deaniacs have gravitated to Paul and have effectively steered his campaign to total illegitimacy .
I do respect their the enthusiasim though .
I hope that the Republican nominee’s campaign has the same energy and enthusiasim as the Paul campaign ,we are going to need it .

"I believe in all faith that Paul isn’t anti-semitic, however, I have never seen the radicals come out behind someone so strongly. I believe it is because Paul is so anti-war and he discusses the neocon (sic) control, to the radicals this equals to the zionist conspiracy."

Agreed, except perhaps to describe him as anti-war. I think he supported the use of force in Afghanistan and was trying to get a formal declaration of war for Iraq. As far as to whether a formal declaration or just a authorization for a use of force was proper, seems to be largely a matter of differing opinions.

Personally, I would have preferred (as if my opinion mattered) a formal declaration for Iraq, since it had a functioning government against which to wage a war. This wasn't the case in Afghanistan.

I don’t believe Ron Paul is anti-Semitic. Do you have any basis for making that claim?
Yes I do. His rantings about the “neocons” and his newsletter that said “By far the most powerful lobby in Washington of the bad sort is the Israeli government.”

And then there was the resolution condemning Hezbollah where Paul was the lone Republican who opposed it, on the grounds that it didn't equally condemn Israel for being terrorists too.

LOL

This biting wit is the reason I like this forum.

. . if it wasn’t for Paul’s followers, I would never have looked so closely at his record . .

Yep, Dr. Paul really does have radical kooks supporting his campaign, no doubt about it:

Jews for Ron Paul was formed in the Summer of 2007 to support the Presidential candidacy of Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. Dr. Paul is a respected fiscal and foreign policy expert and ten-term member of Congress who recently addressed the Johns Hopkins University School of International Affairs on the topic of "A Traditional Non-Interventionist Foreign Policy."

The Jews for Ron Paul Advisory Board members include: Steven R. Berger (Hingham, MA) of Adamas Partners; Dr. Walter E. Block (New Orleans, LA) of Loyola University; Jennifer R. Coffey (Andover, NH) of the Second Amendment Sisters; Rich Goldman (Baltimore, MD) of the Free State Project; Aaron Zelman (Hartford, WI) of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership; and member emeritas, Aaron Russo (1943-2007), the late prominent Hollywood film producer. I have seen the hand of ZOT tonight, and still smell the ozone.

I'm hoping that lighting strikes twice.
