Dunno where ev’rybody else is, but I’ve been over here:

Bad juju.

5 big-rigs snarled together in a “TRUCKS ONLY” tunnel under I-5 at Newhall north of Los Angeles. On caught fire and made a real carbecue out of it. That was 10:402pm last night. Finally called in the coroner who arrived after 2:00am. Hope you’ve no need to be heading north anytime soon.

LOL, excellent! Funny you led off with the Peter Principle, because that was a worry -- I was taking the job I was already doing, formalizing it, and pushing it just a bit higher.

Thank you!

Things are better, here, too.

My daughter just took her first walk, and sounds MUCH better. Her BP kept dropping, so they couldn’t give her anything for pain until it stabilized.

She may go home tomorrow. And I’ll be with her on Monday, so she will be just fine.

I also got a camper-shell for my little truck, this morning. Free! I like it!

Are you “resting” today? When do you travel again? (I forgot.)

Campershell for the pickup is a good thing! As is free!

Yes, I'm resting today. Catching up with FR and the world; just swept off the back deck and got it ready for winter, and before that updated the church website for the first time in two weeks.

And I'm home for almost a month; we fly out Nov. 8th for Cairo. We sent off our passports yesterday for the visas.

I’ve been waiting for almost 18 months for a camper shell to show up on freecycle.com, and yesterday was the day. The guy said it must be mine, because no one else called about it! That works!

Ohyah...winter...we might have it in another six or eight weeks. Of course, that’s about how long it will last, too. ;o]

I’m glad you have time to rest up a little. Life is good!

I hope so. Have to download and process them - a multi-step operation since I shot them in RAW mode (similar to shooting on film, there are more processing steps to get to photos).

But in the meantime, here's one I took in Dortmund (Germany) earlier this week. LoM collects rhino photos, so this was another for her collection.

Here's one. This is probably not much more than a couple of miles from my house, but it's 10 - 15 miles by road. The fall colors appear to have peaked while I was away, but there's still more than usual for here.

There was an unusual amount of traffic on this road. (West Snoqualmie River Road, I think it's called, running between Fall City and Carnation.) We soon saw why.

I never know until I wake up, if I’m going to feel like attending church. But I still lay out my clothes the night before, just in case.

I wish I’d had my clothes out this morning - it was cold, and I couldn’t get anything out of my closet because Vlad was asleep.

The lizards were thrilled when I came down and turned their heat lamp on, and the catz were threatening to eat the lizards if I didn’t hurry up with the cat-nibble.

We had two babies baptized at the Spanish Mass (well, it’s trying to be Spanish, but Father Hawker wanders into Latin when he loses his focus.) Cute babies!

I’m sorry about the delay in answering. I’m watching “The Guardian,” with Kevin Costner.

Now I’m hungry, so I put some frozen lasagne in the microwave to warm it up for lunch. Or dinner....depending on my bedtime. Which can show up any time it feels like it.

Last night was in the 60’s, which is better than it has been, but it’s time for falling temps, though days are still in the 80’s.

We’ll be seeing the leaves litter the yards, soon.

We used to have a little electric heater that I used in the coldest room during the winter. We never used it in this house, so I gave it to a church sale last year. Everyone except Vlad is big enough to stay under the covers now, and he’s comfortable in the closet, with a heat register and no drafts.
