"He pledged he was going to be a governor for all the people and so far, from everything I've seen, that's what he's been doing," said state Sen. Tony Hill, D-Jacksonville, who is black.

Seven years ago, Hill and another black Democratic legislator, Kendrick Meek, of Miami, who now is a U.S. representative, staged a sit-in to get an audience with former Republican Gov. Jeb Bush, who had refused to meet with them before ending affirmative action in state hiring and university admissions. But Hill met with Crist on back-to-back days this month to talk about anti-gang programs, appointments, health care and a possible humanitarian trip to Haiti.

He’s obviously planning to run for President. He’s a twit who will pander and do anything to get votes. He used tax money to create ‘consumer’ websites in his last position. Then leveraged those activities during his campaign. If you got money or a special interest then he is a good gov for you.

‘He’s obviously planning to run for President..’

Oh, now look what you did....you made me ill...!

If this man, who claimed to be a Republican, doesn’t stop acting like a Democrat, he could have a problem being reelected as Gov.

The Republican base needs to wake up and get active. We are letting the Bushs and the Crists and the Schwartzenhagers capture the party . . .

Yah, but Charlie Crist still “restored” felon voting rights and is pushing a green agenda on Florida. Back to nature in South Florida means living in a swamp.

Other minorities don’t say this stuff about pols. Don’t they realize that it sounds kind of racist? Kind of an ‘us vs. them’ mentality that hurts the politics of the black communities?

I’m confident he’ll buy enough votes to be reelected.

Sorry, it’s directed at those calling Crist the first black governor. That would be MA governor Deval Patrick, who ditched the Governor’s Crown Victoria State Police car in favor of a new Coupe DeVille at twice the price.
