Don’t you get it? It isn’t about “genocide”. That’s a ‘RAT smoke screen.

Well...to tell you the truth I probably 'don't get it'...or didn't get it. I shouldn't have reponded because I've been out of town on business all week and only vaguely knew this was going on. As soon as I hit post I wondered why in the world this was being discussed at this time.

Since there are clear signs of the military situation improving in Iraq, the democRAT traitors are desparate to do anything to undermine our military. No, the timing of this resolution is just TOO OBVIOUS!!

Jeopardizing our troops by undermining and denigrating the allies they claimed we didn’t have.....And I’m not supposed to question their patriotism?

Whether it was genocide or not doesn’t matter.

Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it.

Turkey is an ally?? Color me confused. Isn’t this the country that stabbed us in the back right before the Iraq invasion? Why, yes it was!

I say "no" to the question. It was genocide under the OLD MUSLIM regime in Turkey. This is just a crap resolution from the marx-o-crats to try to get at the 'pubs. They fell for it. No condemnation of Pol Pot, Castro, chia pet, or any marxist murderer!

FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)

It’s been amazing to watch how fast folks on this forum bit the democrat’s chum line on this one. Have at it folks, Pelosi, Ried, Murtha, Paul and I might add Osama Bin Laden and company are gonna love ya.

It’s going to make things tougher on our troops in the field of battle, but you moral giants must have your way.

I know, I know, after ninety years, you can’t wait another minute for justice

Couldn't have said it better.

Very discouraging.

Clinton sat by and REFEUSED to call what was going on in Rwanda genocide, while 800,000 men, women and children were being hacked, shot and burned death.

Carter goes to Darfur and says nothing to see there.

This treasonous act these traitors are perpetrating is pure evil, meant to stop the very real progress our troops have fought and died to bring about.

To think we have such evil people in places of authority is chilling. That this can cost us not only every thing the troops have achieved, but more of their lives = and these traitors KNOW this and do not care in their evil zeal for power, is frightening.

And almost as bad are many of the posters in here =

FR is not what it was. And I'll get flamed for this but I'll say it anyway: I believe that FR has been systematically and deliberately infiltrated...in order to dilute it's power. And many here seem to swallow the koolaide

I stayed off FR for months after the election, with pelosi, Reid and gang winning - thanks in part to many republicans, including freeps who vowed to "teach the republicans a lesson" = I hope they like what they have helped wrought. One never plays footsie with the devil and wins.

So I missed the FR purge that I hear took place in the spring, resulting in many of the dedicated FR'ers reluctantly leaving FR and creating another forum.

I'm beginning to think I'll have a lot less heartburn over there with 'old friends' who don't feel the need to rant and call names, just state case at hand - even though I hate to give up on FR. Or has FR given up on those of us who can see evil and CALL it so?

Or can FR weed out the moles and restore it's honor?

Answer # 2 should have been broken into 2 questions.

Yes it was genocide but now is NOT the time to call them on it.

Well, it’s OK to piss off a US Allie if you’re a D-rat, at least the way they think of it.

It has been a tradition for our country to promote human rights.

Like when Clinton refused to call the ongoing slaughter of 800,000 men, women and children in Rwanda genocide and turned his back on them>

Like Carter's trip to Darfur last week and announcing nothing wrong there?

No one's saying the genocide 90 years ago didn't happen - But for you or anyone else to pretend that to take this action at this time is anything other than pure politics to undermine the WOT and our troops - and quite possibly cost many more of our troops their lives - is either disingenuous or ignorant.

The politicians who perpetrated this act of treason for their own personal/political gain did not do it for any concern over human rights. They used it for their own purpose - which is evil of and by itself.

I’ll have been here ten years in a few months. During that time I’ve seen people come and go. I miss many who have left. I valued their opinions and friendship.

I think Jim has tried to do the best job he could at running this forum, and I make it a rule not to give him a hard time in his home.

There have been times when I considered starting my own forum. As I gave it thought, I realized I would have disagreements which would cause me to ban certain people on my forum too. So, what would be the point?

I like the idea of people exchanging ideas, disagreeing and learning about other people’s positions. I’ve learned a lot here. I’m not always happy with how things go, but if I ran my own site, I wouldn’t always like how things went there either.

Sometimes you feel compelled to do things you don’t really want to, but when push comes to shove, you do what you think you have to do.

I like this forum. I haven’t found a better one. What can I tell you. I’d not like to see you leave. I like having people around who know how to express their thoughts in a way that doesn’t endanger the host’s standing, and yet lets others understand the alternative opinions you might posess.

Are there moles here? Well I know there used to be. I note that some of them are no longer here. I don’t know everyone who left, so I am not trying to make a blanket statement here by any means. None the less, there were a few folks who disrupted the immigration treads something fierce. It was essentially a joke on this forum. You couldn’t raise the issue without about six individuals showing up to claim that our laws were wrong, our constitution was wrong and our President well within his rights to turn this nation over to foreign nationals.

Some good people may have left. I hope they found a good new home. I’m sorry they felt compelled to leave.

I will say that it’s a lot more sane around here on some topics. When our favorite people do things that are wrong, they need to be called on it. Some folks had a real problem with that. You don’t have to be a card carrying democrate in favor of installing a socialist state in the U.S. to recognize that something stinks at the top if fearless leader won’t adhere to his oath of office.

Whatever you ultimately decide, good luck.

Turkey is an ally?? Color me confused.

I'd color you clueless?

about 90% of the supplies and equipment that gets to our troops do so over Turkey's air space and over it's land.

And if that gets cut off - what then?

This was done to yank success out from under our troops who have fought and died to being about the success they are now seeing -

You don't have a problem with more of our troops dying because they can't get the supplies and equipment they need?

One crucial piece of equipment - THAT GOES THROUGH TURKEY - helps find and destroy IED so's our troops don't get blown up. I want that stuff to get there - my grandson patrols those damn roads.

May I respectfully suggest you get educated or get lost...

We need Turkey. Without them allowing us transport through their country, our efforts over there will not be successful. This is an issue that could be brought up when/if the situation in the Middle East is more stable. The timing of this request is self-serving and not in the interest of bringing peace to the region.

The term “genocide” is used to cast more than a negative view on a person, government or country. To say that a government or person or country killed off a lot of their enemy or population would, in years past, have sufficed. But now we have to establish genocide to show how much more of an atrocity the situation was. Just because we don’t call something “genocide” does not mean history is forgotten. I don’t need the term “genocide” used to tell me how bad the killings by the Khmer Rouge were and it definitely won’t be left out of history.

It won’t matter. Hunter has too many constituents of Armenian descent. That’s why he’s cosponsoring the resolution.
