It is close to midnight now.
God help those in danger.
Yes please keep us updated.
Where exactly is this tunnel around LA?
Is it a truck only or do cars go through it too?
Geez.... If you can’t drive off the bridge, abandon your vehicle and flee on foot. Cars can be replaced or rebuilt.
http://traffic.tann.net/tanntraffic_trafficmap.php isn’t showing anything video-wise. Video doesn’t seem to be working. KNX 1070 is saying it’s a mess. 3 to 5 big rigs on fire. The interchange is shut down.
Balboa Bridge unstable
Good. There’s no point in going in when the bloody thing might pull a Nimitz Freeway and collapse on top of you.

I tripped across it, trust me....
if you move up a little, where it says The Old Road, you can see a line that moves UNDER I-5 from left to right...that is the truck tunnel.
If you zoom in, you can see trucks using it, heading southbound. it has less of a grade than I-5
Three to five big rigs on fire? Explain that for me. So far as I know, those things don’t just catch on fire all the time - let alone three to five of them.
Thanks.
When I hear breaking news like this it is so heartbreaking. To imagine the victims dealing with what they are going through. For them to make the right decisions (leave the car? Go north? Go south?) And pryaers up for wise decisions and safety to the firemen and cops.
Part of that is easy - if you can drive no farther, try to drive back, the shoulders are now valid lines of retreat.
If you can’t do that, get out of the car and RUN LIKE HELL.
Didn’t this happen a few decades ago up in Oakland it was a semi explosion that went through the tunnel like a huge suctions fireball.
Kinda like the tunnel scene in that old Will Smith movie.
If some other significant “accident” turns up in the next few minutes, that’s going to seem like far more than a weird coincidence.
Already does, sort of. IMHO.
