Rush has this covered.

Note: This listing is restricted to pre-approved bidders or buyers only

Interesting Alan Colmes said he would love to buy the letter and then put it up for sale on ebay again giving the money to the ACLU.

BTW it is up to $105K.

Seriously, this is the FIRST time that congress has (officially) come after a private citizen for exercising his 1st Amendment rights.

Couple of points I want to make here.

First, if this isn't the most amazing backlash and, of course, only someone as well known as Rush could pull it off. If the above, which you point out correctly is the de facto result of the congresses action on this matter, had been you or I, we'd have no recourse but to suffer the possible consequences of this very evil act.

Here's a guy pursuing his happiness as guaranteed by the constitution. In the course of this pursuit he ends up doing the job he is best suited for. And the congress of his country, I am STILL shocked, actually takes an action that could have cost him his job! suppose this had been you or I? We could lose our job and not have the power of Rush Limbaugh to push back. I'm not laughing at this congressional action.

But, next point, Rush Limbaugh has effectively dealt with this matter, taken their stupid action and turning it into one of the biggest PR coups or our era. seriously, this whole thing should be in the history books.

Finally, and I heard Rush alluding to yet another action he may take, I hope that after Rush rubs their stupid noses in what they did all week to what has to be their complete agony, that he'll file a lawsuit.

I mean isn't signing that letter a violation of the oath of office these people took? And no, it isn't the same thing as that congressional condemnation of Move-on.Org. Move-on is NOT a private citizen. It is a 503(c) corp and as such it isn't even supposed to be involved in politics. So if Move-on wanted to file a lawsuit they'd be opening themselves to scrutiny re those pesky IRS rules.

If Rush files a lawsuit I can see this thing going to the Supreme Court and a possible censoring of congress.

I'm perfectly serious.

I hope those people that signed that thing are in unbearable pain and agony this week. Can you imagine what with all the play this thing is getting?

And I hope Rush files a lawsuit. More to protect the lowly you and I than anything else.

Perhaps that is HIS blue streak at the top of the document.

So Byyyrd uses a “signer” like Walt Disney? I think that there were upwards of 40 people authorized to sign Walt’s name and each had a distinctive style.

Move On is a PAC. Media Matter claims to be a non-partisan 501c3.

MoveOn.org most definitely is partisan. They cannot take foreign contributions (and have been caught doing so in the last election). The amount of donations they can receive are capped too.

It would be truly fun to watch if you are right....but Rush has pre-qualified every bidder. There is nothing to say however, that a DU person could bid because the rules don't necessarily rule them out. The most stringent rule is that you have the finances to pay whatever you bid...and I think that Rush and E-Bay would go after any scofflaw with vigor.

A caller even asked Rush what would happen if somebody came in with a bid of $30 million...Rush didn't skip a beat and said that would be o.k....his pledge to match whatever came in stands.

I don't think he is worried since there is no lib anywhere, including Soros, that will be caught giving money to any military outfit who does good work.

They will fund abortion clinics, piss christ "art", and scumbag socialist politicians, but not for any good causes which actually end up helping people.

I like Rush, but it’s pretty obvious he is behind this bidding.

Rush should pocket the money and not give it to charity. Thumb his nose at the b***ards.

The publicity alone is worth the 100K.

That said, some bureaucratic loser is probably going to file a lawsuit considering this some sort of "illegal campaign contribution".

I stand corrected.

Here’s my concern...congress drafted a resolution condemning Move-On.org for its “General Betray Us” ad in the NY Times. So Move-On is a Political action committee.

Now I’m pretty sure Rush could file a grievance cause he is a private citizen and his congress did the ONE thing our founding fathers never wanted our government to do.

My question is....did congress also do a bad thing when they condemned the General Betray Us ad by Move-On.org.

Understand I’m not making a value judgement here. Move-on really did take out an ad; no one lied about what they said. Still, even the Moonbats have free speech in this country. While Rush was lied about by congress.

Are each of these congressional condemnations equal in weight in terms of their constitutional illegality?

I’m not sure I believe that. He has some pretty pricey friends.

The President of Clear Channel would do himself well to bid it high as well.

Yes, two of the losers represent my sorry state. In fact, one of them is running for president - Barack Hussein Obama, socialist and moron extraordinaire.

Oh, I can also count on one of my Senators being on the wrong side consistently. I’m lucky in that way...

At least I can have some fun for a change and call up to let them know how the auction is doing. LOL

WooHoo! Six figures. I predicted conservatively it would hit the six figure mark at least. Nice to see that happen today. I’m going to have such fun watching this on Friday, as we all will I’m sure.

God Bless the troops and Rush Limbaugh.

Screw you Reid, Hillary and co.

The above list of signers gives us all a clear tally of the most notorious Stalinists who have found their way into our government. From their mouths, both truth and the very meaning of language are in jeopardy. Will our voting population send them home soon? Or, disasterously farther down the road, will it take a shogun to sweep the congress clean?

I debated whether a statement like that deserved comment.

I suppose it does, to this point at least. Since, as you say, it’s Pretty obvious” Rush is bidding himself...back up your claim with these “pretty obvious” facts. My guess is that they are as legit as the charge he attacked the troops.
