Limbaugh Spins Reid's Letter Into Charity Gold
Washington Post ^ | October 20, 2007 | By Neely Tucker

Posted on 10/20/2007 3:36:11 AM PDT by johnny7

Petty bickering about patriotism and Who Loves Our Troops More has never been seen as a financial growth industry, but there's no stopping American capitalism. This is why a perfunctory bit of political grandstanding, committed to U.S. Senate letterhead this month, became worth a reported $4.2 million yesterday, instantly becoming one of the most valuable printed documents of the modern era.

This is a perfect example of why the MSM, WaPo, NYTs, etc, are going down. The “reporter” notes nothing of the actual controversy. What did Limbaugh actually say? What was the context? Who is Jesse McBeth? What was Reid trying to imply?

All she does is report Reid’s lie as though it were the truth and go on from there. As though these nutty Republicans are spending money to save Rush.

This entire story in the way it’s reported is a lie.

After Hairy Reed and Barbara Box hook up do you think there’s a risk of the Pelosi-Barr virus being passed?

/I understand the veal scallopini is excellent. Let host Chef Tony and the lovely wait staff take care of you. I’ll be here all week. God bless folks. Gnite!

Today’s AJC had a surprisingly good article about the letter by AP reporter Brian Skoloff.

No quotes by Reid and all the facts reported correctly.

The article’s last paragraph: “Limbaugh was responding to a caller several weeks ago when he used the phrase “phony soldiers.” He has said he was only referring to one speific soldier who has spoken out against the war while claiming to have seen combat. That soldier was kicked out of the Army in 2003 and sentenced to prison last month for collecting benefits he was not entitled to.”

As I listened to Harry Reid try to take credit for this letter yesterday, I was struck at how these people really are in an altered universe, and so devoid of reality.

It's called marketing, and it will never change or go away.

This is the marketing strategy is bearing false witness and yes the MSM has nothing to do with journalism, it is strickly the marketing arm of the DNC. At least this is the mindset that gets me through the day.

Neely Tucker is an ad copy writer for the DNC - Not a journalist of any stripe.

Neely Tucker is a liar...

Neely Tucker works for the Washington ComPost. It is an entry level requirement.

This entire story in the way it’s reported is a lie.

The story is not being "reported". That would imply some existance of journalism.

This is ad copy penned by one of a hundreds of ad copy writers working for the WoPo marketing channel of the DNC, part of the greater Main Stream and Media marketing parent.

Even as accurate as that part is, it omits MacBeth's name so that nobody can look into it further. It also makes no mention at all of his being trotted out by the leftists to tell his tall tales of atrocities that he claimed our troops committed. (I'll give them a C for the effort, though.)

Devoid of "reality"?

No my FRiend, it isn't reality they are devoid of. They are devoid of many things but reality isn't the word.

If one had to pick one word, I would say "integrity". They absolutely have none.

Not many politicians these days of either stripe have any, but the Democrats as lead by the Stalinist liberals have taken being devoid of integrity to absolutely new lows.

Their pathological quest for power has them not only willing, but actively working for the downfall of this Republic, without conscience.

Exactly. I thought that’s what we were getting back in ‘96 but the Republicans have totally blown it. There are pathetically too few R’s will the brass balls that Rush has.

The DBM... manages... the news through spin, censorship, scams and outright lies.

This is what Ried's letter boils down to for this schmuck? It's just petty bickering about patriotism and who loves our troops more?

No, this was about slandering a public figure and trying to destroy his career. We have a U.S. Constitituion to prevent this type of stuff Mr. Tucker. The 41 signators of this document should be booted out of office for a violation of the oaths they took upon being sworn into that office.

41 Senators should be on a plane back home as I type, but we do not have an effective government these days. Mexico City comes closer to governing this nation than the old seat of power does.

Everyone knows the meaning of the word "phony." Rush knows that they do.

Rush is not obliged to define each word he uses.

Well, that refusal to try Clinton for impeachment announced that loud and clear. Lanny Davis, Ann Lewis and a host of others made our team look like snot nosed kids. Our side came to the fight with a lollipop and knickers. Their side came with shields and spears.

SHE is a HE.
Personally I find the MSM and articles like this very frightening. Most people don’t have time to follow stories as closely as we do here. They lap up this misinformation and propaganda without a second thought. We see Democrats lie and the MSM swears to it. No facts, no accuracy.
With just this story WAPO, ABC, CNN and Harry Reid are all fabricating big time. The casual reader would’t know the difference between the truth and propaganda. In the grand scheme of things, this is a small story and nothing is factual. Frightening.

God bless Rush Limbaugh. FINALLY someone get’s it. You don’t ignore these people, you don’t try to appease these people, you don’t apologize to these people, you fight them. They are every bit as sheep-like and gutless as our RINOS

You ridicule them which is exactly what Rush did.

It continues with the MSM. I really think above all else they will do themselves in.

I really believe this will start the ball unraveling to clinton's quest of the presidency.

I, too, believe that Clinton Inc. will be exposed and defeated. For those who missed Dingy's amazing performance and attempt at stealing Rush's spotlight yesterday on the Senate floor:
