I do agree with SOME of your post, so I guess we can still be on speaking terms. :)

An autopsy cannot prove that a person is or is not PVS. Check out Carl Iyer testimony:

Please view my favorite video of Terri. She laughs when her dad reminds her of when she used to tease her mother, and roll her eye (Terri had “lazy eye”).

If you want to see this video, which only takes a minute, visit:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/1345652/posts?page=28

Then go to Post #28 & click the link.

Keep in mind when Terri makes sounds, she is attempting to talk, but needs therapy in order to talk. Even without therapy, Terri can say a few words. Sadly, Michael wouldn’t allow her to have ANY kind of therapy.
....

More Terri videos; etc - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1341036/posts?q=1&&page=51

Judge Greer would not even allow Terri to be fed by mouth, and she COULD swallow soft foods and drinks. Judge Greer wanted Terri dead.

Read where Judge Greer made a “mistake” (if it was a mistake) and did not rectify his mistake. This is more proof that Greer is an activist judge.

“If Judge Greer’s 2000 order authorizing Michael Schiavo to end his wife’s life were a criminal death sentence, Terri would be entitled to a new trial on the basis of reversible error,” Gibbs said.

The alleged error centers on the testimony of Diane Meyer, one of Terri’s life-long friends. She told Greer that Terri had expressed her disagreement with the decision of Karen Ann Quinlan’s parents to remove their comatose daughter from life support in a highly publicized “right-to-die” case in the 1970s and 1980s.

“There was an incident when I told a poor joke about Karen Ann Quinlan. I remember distinctly because Terri never lost her temper with me. This time she did,” Meyer testified in 2002.” She told me that she did not approve of what was going on or what happened in the Karen Ann Quinlan case.”

Meyer told the court that the conversation had taken place, “in the summer of 1982.”

Greer ruled that, because Meyer spoke of the conversation in the present tense, she must have been mistaken about the date. He deduced that the comments must have been made in the mid-1970s, when Terri would have been only 11 or 12 years old.

“The first quote involved a bad joke and used the verb ‘is.’ The second quote involved the response from Terri Schiavo, which used the word ‘are,’” Greer wrote in his decision. “The court is mystified as to how these present tense verbs would have been used some six years after the death of Karen Ann Quinlan.”

As a result, Greer ruled that the statement that she “would not want to be kept alive artificially” - which Terri allegedly made in the presence of her husband, brother-in-law and brother-in-law’s wife - was Terri’s only adultcomment on the matter.

But Gibbs’ motion argued that it was Greer, not Meyer, who was in error.

“The court discredited Ms. Meyer’s testimony because of its own mistaken conclusion that Karen Ann Quinlan was dead in 1982. In reality, Ms. Quinlan was very much alive in 1982,” Gibbs wrote. “Ms. Quinlan did not die until 1985, some nine years after her court case ended and her respirator was removed.”

Greer’s refusal to consider Meyer’s testimony as equal to that of Terri’s husband and in-laws constitutes a reversible error, Gibbs claimed.

And Judge Greer didn’t even both to visit Terri, so he could see for himself. Greer already had his mind made up.

“Pulling the plug” in accord with a living will is one thing, but cutting off food and water and watching the person die is quite another - most especially with no living will, just the word of an unfaithful husband with a financial interest in the death.

Agreed. That is the critical difference. We wouldn't even starve mass murderers as it would be cruel and unusual. There are plenty of people who need assistance eating: elderly, disabled, sick, and the very young. Terri Schaivo is just the next step in the culture of death.

In Britian, government healthcare helps that culture. People are put on waiting lists when cancer operations are feasible, but then the cancer become inoperable. The government gets to decide who lives and dies.

An autopsy cannot prove that a person is or is not PVS. Check out Carl Iyer testimony:

If I am ever in a PVS, I hope some kind soul will punch my ticket the rest of the way, don't want to be a hanging Chad you know.

Seriously, some of the changes proposed by the save Terri brigade would not allow me to be unplugged and I would be stuck here until I died of boredom. That is when it becomes about me. Is what Michael did nice, most certainly not would I do it? Well my wife has ASKED not to be left in a PVS, so yes, but I would not have had the circus he gathered, and I would not have sued people for he maintenance, since I would not be planning to maintain her. That said, I would be looking forward to a thank you from her when I got to the other side.

It's just a different perspective, I guess.

Please view my favorite video of Terri. She laughs when her dad reminds her of when she used to tease her mother, and roll her eye (Terri had “lazy eye”).

I have Two questions: What was that crazy light bar thing at the beginning of the video for? Why have I not seen this video before, when was it taken, it appears she was able to communicate which negates the "living will kind of a situation that I thought this was. If she could respond and laugh, then ask her to blink once for yes and two for no or something and let her answer whether on not she wants to go onward to God. If she was no longer able to communicate then the last stated wishes (or ones made up by her legal and lawful husband as the case may be) are the only things a judge can go by. If this one did not, then that is on his conscience.

I have two thoughts, marry carefully, and have a written will someplace safe.

Keep in mind when Terri makes sounds, she is attempting to talk, but needs therapy in order to talk. Even without therapy, Terri can say a few words. Sadly, Michael wouldn’t allow her to have ANY kind of therapy.

I am NOT, I repeat NOT defending Michael, I just want to make sure my right to die without being kept torturously alive is not abridged.

I also find it ironic that the catholic church played a role here, it was OK for him to have his wife's feeding tube removed, but not OK to get a divorce. So his choice was be celibate and lonely, commit adultery, kill his wife. Personally, I think he had the tube removed so he could remarry and still be in the good graces of the church. There are many things wrong here, and not just with Michael.

Judge Greer would not even allow Terri to be fed by mouth, and she COULD swallow soft foods and drinks. Judge Greer wanted Terri dead.

I don't know what Judge Greer wanted, but i expect he wished the case never came to his court, either way he ruled, his career as a judge was over.

I don't know about the errors in the case, I was set upon when ever I joined threads and said I would have wanted to be put out of my misery after six months in PVS and no one was logical, they were all name calling, so I stopped going to the threads that would have had this information on them because I didn't need to be called a murderer waiting for a victim (one of the things I was called) People need to realize that sometimes how you say what you are saying is more important than what is said, i am guilty of that sometimes, witness my Bring out your dead post, here.

What the leftist press also did was support the outrageous notion that Terry was “peaceful” and “euphoric” as she died of hunger and thirst. In fact, she died slowly and horribly as anyone who starves to death and/or dies of thirst.

My father was terminally ill with congestive heart failure. He died of hunger/thirst when he was no longer capable of eating or drinking. He had a living will to not resuscitate or insert a feeding tube—this iswhat he wanted. Even with HOURLY doses of morphine he still suffered terribly in the last 10 days of his life.

Yes, Terri is dead. You can submit your joke to a number of sites specializing in your brand of hatred. FR is not a repository for that crap. Why don’t you try one of these sites? http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=%22Terri+Schiavo+jokes%22&btnG=Search

I’ve also been in that situation. I had to carry out the last wishes of my mother and it was the most painful thing I have ever witnessed.
I can not imagine having to go through all of that with the know it all press and politicians prying into my personal life every day. Out of all the crap they wrote about the husband and all the accusations that were made there was not one shred of proven physical evidence to substantiate any of it. It was all a made up crock to sell news.

What else did the judge have to go on but Michaels statement that Terry had told him? the "other witness" was rightly or wrongly assumed to be telling a lie, and you have the husband who is legally presumed to have his wife's best interests at heart. The law was written assuming the spouse would be a true and honest witness as to the wishes of the individual in question.

Michael did not live up to expectations, but that is not necessarily the judges fault. If the judge had a reasonable access to information that showed Michael was indeed not doing what was in Terri's interest, then he should have acted on that to the fullest extent of the law, but It is my opinion and desire that Judges not make law from the bench.

Easy to figure out? I would hope so, I am a conservative who wants my right to not be kept alive indefinitely, to be respected. I want the rule of law to be respected. I have said it before, if the law was wrong, then fix the law...

Yes, I have an analogy. During WWII, sometimes German soldiers would dress in the uniforms of our fallen soldiers and would look much like American soldiers. Now, because they looked American, were they American? If that sounds obvious, then the dressing of Bp. Lynch and his cronies in Catholic garb is about as ridiculous.

The Catholic Faith is still the Catholic Faith even if some goofballs claim otherwise. The Vatican made clear their position and have come down solidly, unequivocally on our side.

No amount of interpreting can scratch the wording as no amount of science or research can fracture the case of facts and evidence weighing against those complicit in her murder. Terri was killed by a psychopath with the cooperation of the system. I repeat. It is all clear and undisputed in the Terri Dailies. Nothing has been explained away. Evil is evil no matter how it is masked.
