I would prefer a strong leader like Giuliani who has promised more appointments like Scalia, Roberts, and Alito.

So more Italians? LOL

I didn’t mean to offend, but my point is that if the party falls apart the fault lies with those who allowed and are even now allowing it to be taken over by the enemy, not with those of us who are fighting to keep the conservative movement conservative.

Normy, you keep ignoring that keeping the "love yourself as your neighbor" law of Jesus IS fulfilling the others.

In short, if you are a murderer, you are NOT keeping the command of Jesus.

Actually, though, both Jesus and Paul had very high regard for the law of Moses. Paul calls it a schoolmaster that leads us to Christ.

Revelation 22 says:

12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

.."you indeed have a choice."

The choice is to do what is right or to do what is clearly wrong. I choose to do the right thing and oppose liberalism at every turn.

"Remember render unto Caesar that which is Caesars?"

Obligation to pay taxes is not an obligation to support a liberal.

"You live here in the world. You have to realize that standing on principle without doing something to see those principles realized does nothing other than show you have a "holier than thou" attitude in that you are unconcerned with anyone but yourself."

I'm sorry you see obedience to God is such a negative manner. I'm sure not holier than anyone else but you are completely wrong about what I am concerned about. I am only concerned about what God thinks.

"Rudy may be many things, but if he is your enemy than you have problems understanding how the world works."

Rudy is the enemy of conservatism. I am a conservative. Rudy is my idealogical enemy. Understand that?

"Ah, the whole is everyone else's fault. Maybe is social conservatives hadn't pissed off large segments of Republican voters you wouldn't be in this situation."

I'm not in any situation. Those who need my vote are.

As for those who are PO at socons I will leave you with this:

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

Harriet Miers was a prolife selection. There might have been other problems with her nomination, but pro-life was not one of them.

Pro-Life Groups Rally Around Supreme Court Nominee Harriet Miers

by Steven Ertelt

LifeNews.com Editor

October 5, 2005

-- Pro-life groups are beginning to rally around Harriet Miers, President Bush's pick to replace outgoing pro-abortion Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. Several pro-life groups say that reports showing Miers' pro-life views provide them with enough evidence to show she's pro-life and can be relied on to uphold pro-life laws rather than finding a fictitious right to abortion in the Constitution. The view of David O'Steen, executive director of the National Right to Life Committee is one held by many pro-life leaders. He's reassured by reports of Miers pro-life views and he trusts President Bush based on his past pro-life performance and strong judicial picks.

"President Bush has an excellent record of appointing judges who recognize the proper role of the courts, which is to interpret the law according to its actual text, and not to legislate from the bench," O'Steen said. "We believe that Harriet Miers is another nominee who will abide by the text and history of the Constitution."

Roberta Combs, president of the Christian Coalition agreed and said, "I trust that she will be an excellent addition to the high court and all Americans will be proud of her."

Meanwhile, Focus on the Family founder and president Dr. James Dobson used his nationally syndicated broadcast Wednesday morning to endorse Miers. He says he's spoken to people who have known Miers intimately for many years and he trusts their descriptions of her pro-life and strict constructionist views.

"She is a deeply committed Christian," said Dobson.

Dobson spend considerable time telling his listeners why he thought President Bush should be trusted on this judicial pick. He said Bush "pledged emphatically during his campaign to appoint judges who will interpret the law rather than create it."

"President Bush's appointments to the federal bench appear to have been remarkably consistent with that stated philosophy," Dobson explained. "Based on the information known generally about Harriet Miers, and President Bush's personal knowledge of her, we believe that she will not prove to be a lone exception."

New reports indicate Miers led a fight to overturn the American Bar Association's pro-abortion stance, she gave money to a Texas pro-life group and attended a couple of pro-life dinners, she attends a pro-life evangelical Christian church, and her former campaign manager and a pro-life Texas Supreme Court judge have said she is strongly pro-life.

I don’t buy the nomination of judges line.

History does NOT prove it out.

Giuliani was a DOJ lawyer and like him, most DOJ lawyers lean to the left. (comes with the job, policeman’s job easy in a police state and all that) He would draw from the pool of left wing lawyer aquantances. He has surrounded himself (ala specter) with left leaning staffers who will recomend their left leaning judges.

There is no credibility for Giuliani’s deeds matching his recent words.

.

(footnote: Geraaaaldo now says Giuliani is a personal friend of his. There is a left wing lawyer association. :-P )
