Citgo distributor says sales lapse By Rick Stouffer TRIBUNE-REVIEW Wednesday, October 31, 2007
Greg Marnell thinks everyone has a right to do business in the United States, even Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez. While filing his gas tank at Tyke's Citgo in Monroeville, Marnell said he is aware of Chavez's ties to the gasoline company.
"America's the melting pot, isn't it? Everybody has the right to come here and make money," said Marnell of Monroeville.
But Chavez's increasing anti-U.S. antics may be hurting the oil-rich South American nation at the gasoline pump. So says gasoline distributor Don Bowers, who acknowledges motorists seem to be buying less gasoline from Citgo, a subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A.

I do every day. With a smile.
Miller Lite was my beer of choice, but I’ve switched to Amber Bock (Michelob). Powerful and good tasting beer. Will buzz ya quickly!
No Greg, everyone does not have a "RIGHT" to do business in the United States. What a moron this Greg must be.
Must be in Murtha's district!
Was this the heroin addicted Kenennedy? Or just another run of the mill alcoholic Kennedy like all the rest?
he is
What’s the story behind Miller?...
Are you speaking from first hand experience?
Must have missed it. Is 7-11 gas still Citgo? I thought they changed.
I DO NOT buy Citgo gas, period. Nor do I buy any other brand of gas if the station is full of middle-eastern accents.
I patronize Americans in the way I see fit. Sometimes it costs a bit more to remain true to that, and I willingly pay the extra to put my money where my mouth is. I’m intolerant, LOL.
Miller sponsored an event in San Francisco with an ad that was very mocking portrayal of the Last Supper with gay and lesbian characters in a very provocative pose. When many Christians objected to this portrayal, Miller pulled it's name from the photo, but continued to sponsor the event. A few, and I don't know how many, stores pulled Miller from their shelves because of it.
Snoopes Confirmed. They are changing name to Petro Express. Buyer beware!!
“boost its sagging bushiness”
You’re right, Bush has been sagging for a long time but not much hope for a boost.
May be they. But I have a right to spend my money where I want.
Experiences inadvertently gathered by just working near the animals because sometimes the s**t hits the fan, literally!
Where is that exactly in the Constitution?
“America’s the melting pot, isn’t it? Everybody has the right to come here and make money,” said Marnell of Monroeville.”
Sorry, if you are uninvited; no you don’t.
If I had a dollar for everytime I heard that?
I avoid Citgo gas but will still support the proprietor from inside sales. Hugo has nothing to do with that I believe.
The Inca and the Islamofascist embrace......terrorists all!
Before it's all said and done, being able to live without fear of someday dieing will be a right considered worthy of a lawsuit.
This "rights" thing has gotten waaaay over used to the point of the word being rendered complacent when placed in Constitutional terms.
