Why does Mrs. Clinton want driver's licenses for illegal aliens?
Sen. Hillary Clinton was asked during a debate this week if she supported New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer's plan to give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. At first she seemed to endorse the idea, then claimed, "I did not say that it should be done, but I certainly recognize why Governor Spitzer is trying to do it."
The next day she took a firmer stand (sort of) by offering general support for Gov. Spitzer's approach, but adding that she hadn't studied his specific plan. She should, and so should the rest of us. It stops just short of being an engraved invitation for people to commit voter fraud.
The background here is the National Voter Registration Act, commonly known as "Motor Voter," that President Bill Clinton signed into law in 1993. It required all states to offer voter registration to anyone getting a driver's license. One simply fills out a form and checks a box stating he is a citizen; he is then registered and in most states does not have to show any ID to vote.
But no one checks if the person registering to vote is indeed a citizen. That greatly concerns New York election officials, who processed 245,000 voter registrations at DMV offices last year. "It would be [tough to catch] if someone wanted to . . . get a number of people registered who aren't citizens and went ahead and got them drivers' licenses," says Lee Daghlian, spokesman for New York's Board of Elections.

Thank you, John Fund!! It;s what I’ve been saying for 3 days. It’s ALL about VOTE FRAUD!!!!!!!!!
I wonder where all the third world cabbies in NYC get their drivers license and cab medallion??
All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others...
So do we, beach!
For the same reason your husband did it: to make getting re-elected that much easier.
Measures that curb voter fraud on the one hand and encourage it on the other will be central to the 2008 election. The Supreme Court will rule on the constitutionality of Indiana’s photo ID law next spring, while lawsuits challenging Gov. Spitzer’s moves will be in New York state courts.
Despite her muddled comments this week, there’s no doubt where Mrs. Clinton stands on ballot integrity. She opposes photo ID laws, even though they enjoy over 80% support in the polls. She has also introduced a bill to force every state to offer no-excuse absentee voting as well as Election Day registration—easy avenues for election chicanery. The bill requires that every state restore voting rights to all criminals who have completed their prison terms, parole or probation.
There is an easy way to fix on site voter fraud IMO. As people come in, have people of all colors declare their citizenship at the border patrol check point station. Next step is the LE station for a thumb print to determine is you are a citizen that can legally vote , are dead, and are not voting “again” After that proceed at business as usual.
“After 9/11, the Justice Department found that eight of the 19 hijackers were registered to vote.”
Did anyone EVER hear this before???????
And further in the article it states that libs in certain states, including Iowa, have sued to get the checkbox REMOVED completely.
The 2008 election cycle will be the biggest voter fraud this Country has ever experienced. Is there any doubt?

This information needs to be spread.
How quickly we forget that the 9/11 Commission found that as many as 15 of the 19 hijackers were, in their words, potentially vulnerable to interception by border authorities. So why does this bill not address the 9/11 Commission’s recommendation for a secure identification system? The 19 9/11 hijackers had 63 validly issued U.S. driver’s licenses between them. What were they using that many for? They were moving around the country undetected and plotting and planning. In fact, as many as eight of them were even registered to vote. They then used those bogus licenses to board U.S. planes.
“They had 63 of these driver’s licenses between them, for the 19 of them. And these identification documents gave these hijackers unfettered access to nearly everything they needed to plan and carry out their attacks on Washington, D.C. and on New York City. And the identification cards also allowed them to remain in the country with the appearance of legitimacy long after their visas had expired and their presence in the United States became illegal.”
Cong, Ed Royce—December 7, 2004.
We're beginning to resemble some squalid third world country in this regard.
Last night the toughest immigration law in the Nation was passed in Oklahoma:
(1) gives full enforcement powers to police officers, firemen,
(2) instructs all schools to perform complete background checks on all students,
(3) any landlord caught harboring an illegal immigrant faces FELONY charges.
Way to go Oklahoma.
It is indeed. Yet for some strange reason both the RNC and most GOP politicians (including the President) are dead silent about the isssue. ...even though the fraud helps Democrats exclusively. Kind of like the GOP establishment pushing amnesty even though the vast majority of the new citizens would vote Donkey. "The Stupid Party" is in full bloom these days.
I support digital thumb print scanning that wouldn’t be used to record anything about you other than you have already voted in this election, so you can’t vote again.
“I’ve yet to hear one single Republican say anything about Democrat voter fraud.”
“Drivers Licenses for Illegal Aliens: Recipe for Voter Fraud
Posted on October 31st, 2007
By Fred in Statements, Immigration
While Hillary Clinton was speaking out both sides of her mouth at last nights debate over the issue of drivers licenses for illegal immigrants, what went unsaid is that this is a recipe for increased voter fraud. Under the federal Motor Voter law (the National Voter Registration Act of 1993), states must provide applicants for drivers licenses with the opportunity to register to vote.”
Yet another reason he’s the candidate we should all rally behind. Every other candidate always goes for the 2nd or 3rd best argument against liberal policies, Fred consistently puts forth our best arguments.
Beautiful----we gotta get the Spitler--Hillary victory pic on youtube......and all over the net, pronto.
"Those (leaders) who cannot remember the past are condemned to (have the general public) repeat it."
" Ole, amigos, let's go have a horchata and a churros in the Senate tacoteria....Viva Mexico."
The hil wants it because she is desperate to get elected. She knows damned well that there will be massive voter fraud. She doesn’t care. For her, the end justifies the means.

Bracewell & Giuliani Firm Advises Cintra in First Privatization of Toll Road in Texas
DALLAS (March 1, 2007) Bracewell & Giuliani LLP (Texas-based law firm with global connections) advised Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., a Spanish transportation company, in its successful bid to develop State Highway 121 into a toll road through Collin and Denton counties ("trade road" is four football fields wide).
The award to Cintra, approved by the Texas Transportation Commission, is the first privatization of a Texas toll road. Bracewell is acting as project counsel to Cintra with respect to the 50-year concession from the Texas Department of Transportation. Cintra will pay a $2.1 billion upfront and annual lease payments totaling $700 million. "Cintra was awarded this project because of its proven expertise and competitive proposal," said Thomas O. Moore, partner with Bracewell & Giuliani. "This is the largest transportation deal of 2007. This is one of only five deals in the country." http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1803916/posts
Honestly fellows, if there were such a thing as voter fraud, illegal aliens voting, crooked elections, and all that sort of positively unsporting stuff going on in this country, don't you think our devoted RNC would have done something about it, or said something, or promise "to look into it?" Why, that's why we pay them!
I think, if such a low-down dirty thing existed, in which the Democrats stole the vote in major cities, flipping a state's electoral vote to Gore, Kerry, or anyone else, or corrupted the vote in a county costing that Rossi fellow the governorship out in WA, that our fearless leader GW, would have jumped all over it and corrected the situation. Don't you?
If there were such a thing as "Voter Fraud," our Republican leaders certainly would have backed up B-1 Bob Dornan.
BTW, how thge hell can we trust all of these "Death Bed Conversions" on Immigration and Voter Fraud, when Fred, Mitt, Rudy, John, and even Holy Duncan, Apostle of the True Conservatives, have never said a GD word about these topics before now? I'm confused. Now these guys suddenly wake up? When the country is overrun with 20 Million + illegal aliens doing everything but running for president themselves ... not to mention their citizen anchor babies and citizen grandbabies ... turning the USA into if not yet a banana republic, a northern outpost of Latin America, with a soon to be 30% Hispanic population?
Good question. Let’s have a reference, Ok?
Because if true, it must be used in the campaign.
I live in King County too and was shocked to my core to see the blatant vote fraud in 2004 as well as the aftermath trial, excuses and coverups.
Sharkansky (http://soundpolitics.com) is a genius when it comes to forensic investigations of vote fraud. But it is so absurd that the current state laws require that vote fraud be determined before the election (such as duplicate or false registrations) rather than after. Vote fraud detected after the election cannot invalidated, therefore blatant ballot stuffing, even if witnessed and taped cannot be invalidated once those false ballots are in the machines and counted.
Sound Politics is indeed a good site. On the face of it Prop. 1 might address that problem, but given the way the rats are allowed to "keep counting ballots (most of which mysteriously appear late in the counting) until they get the desired outcome" I worry that they will even be able to keep an "elected" Elections Commissioner in their pocket.
The Democrats have for decades made election fraud a time-honored tradition, and it seems that everybody knows it. Queen Christine literally succeeded at what Al Gore attempted, but failed to do. It was done right in our faces, and later rubbed in by a earring wearing Democrat judge.
Since Republicans are generally at the recieving end of this, I can't understand why Republicans don't make it a front burner issue. As of this morning (courtesy of Quinn in #25) I know of only one Republican who ever mentions it.
I can't for the life of me understand why our local rats are not wearing ACORN around their necks like an albatross.
My “paste” in #35 was from another post. I apologize.
“I certainly recognize why Governor Spitzer is trying to do it.”
Duh, Why, Hillary?
On the national level it does seem that way but in NY at least the GOP is all over the democrats thankfully. And the dems aren't too happy about it. I'm betting next year will be even worse for them if they keep supporting Spitzer.

As you know, Governor Spitzer is planning to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens beginning next year.
Yesterday, the Commissioner of the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles admitted that illegal aliens could use these driver’s licenses to buy guns.
I believe this is wrong and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is opposed to the Governor’s plan.
When asked if this would allow an illegal alien to purchase a gun, Governor Spitzer’s own Commissioner of Motor Vehicles said, “yeah, I guess it proves who they are.”
Like the vast majority of New Yorkers, I don’t support the Governor’s plan and I’m concerned that it will compromise our security.
For more information about the legislation I passed to stop Governor Spitzer from giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, please click here.
I received this email this morning, my reply was that I am more concerned about motor-voter fraud.
I don’t have the link, unfortunately, but I saw a site that graded politicians on their positions on immigration. Fred scored an overall C, with A+’s in border control and something else important, but which was offset with low grades on things like penalizing employers who were tricked with fraudulent ID (and a reasonable argument -can- be made for that, in that it’s really the federal government’s job, not employers). Not a -terrific- record, but nothing to be overwhelmingly ashamed of either, especially since it was in the 90’s and it wasn’t exactly a hot issue then. I do think, out of the big 5 contenders, between that record and the positions he’s staking out now he has the best record overall on immigration.
Now yer just thinking outside the box...
That’s going to become illegal too very soon...
the dims and especially clintoon inc. have been pumping up the fraud system for a looooong time . IMO thats why they were so peeved in 2000. To them there was no possible way they could lose, the fix was in.
This is the reason I think her heinyous will be tough to beat in the general, unless its a complete landslide [ which will look like a dead heat ].
For this reason alone I think a divided dim primary is a good thing...
You said it! Illegals are already pros at cheating. This will be a cakewalk for them.
Maybe I’m missing something here, but don’t you have to provide a SS Number when you apply for a license? I know I did when I applied for my license. They don’t print it on your license, but I had to either show them my SS card, or provide them with the number when I applied for my license. With Motor Voter, has this been done away with?
If so, then if someone who already has a valid license wants to assume another identity, then all they have to do is give a phony name, say they are a citizen, and Wham! they have a new license, a new identity, and can vote twice in an election.
Or am I wrong?
No you're not. In NY the law requires a SSN to get a license and his office has publicly stated they are going to arbitrarily roll that back. Spitzer has convinced himself he was appointed king.
“Motor Voter is better described as Auto Fraudo.”
Auto Fraudo. That’s a good one. You need to send that into Rush. That is funny.
Agree, Fred deserves a C. However, now that the entire nation has been hispanified, it's a bit late to claim to have been anti-illegal immigration. It's been a hot issue since the late 1960's.
Yes, the Border should be strictly controlled. Yes illegal aliens should be deported, but the illegal parents of American Citizens are usually not, as a matter of policy, if not law, deported.
Well that tells you right there that this isn’t to keep track of illegals, but a more sinister motive.
