LOL ... I’ve got somebody in the office who is a gossiper who takes frequent smoke breaks and looooooong lunch breaks, finds any excuse to avoid work, talks very loudly into the phone, bursts through closed doors and interrupts private, business-related conversations and throws public tantrums from time to time, cussing out her boss.
She’s annoying, but I deal with it by allowing her to be my own private episode of ‘The Office’ each day and get a laugh out of it.
The woman I share an office with, though, scares me. I really think she’s mentally unbalanced.

The ones who irritate me are the “shouldsters”. Every time you tell them how things are, what can be done, what kind of resources can be assigned to an issue, they always come up with “Well, it should be such & such way”. And when you point out that the boss’s office is right around the corner and he is taking pointers on strategy, they always slunk away.
So, in effect, it’s a whine disguised as a “genuine, helpful suggestion”. That’s one reason why suggestion boxes are empty.

“hijackers who hijack meetings by discussing irrelevant topics”
This is true of people everywhere, at or outside of work.
I am so sick of people talking, talking, talking, without stopping for a split second to take a breath!
To megatalkers everywhere, SHUT UP - nobody cares about your trivia and the minute details of your lives!!!!!!!!!!!
And why don’t you ask about how myself or my family are doing, for once?
Sorry - now I have hijacked the topic. But I’ve come in contact with way to many of these loudmouths this week, and enough is enough. And if you’re a megatalker at work, that’s even worse, since you’re not doing your job.

Here's my list:
No 1. The chronic bronchitis asthmatic coughers. (please go home!)
No. 2. The managing director who is so important she must listen to all of her voicemail on speakerphone at top volume with her door open.
No. 3. My next door cube dweller who has two long hateful sarcasm-filled telephone conversations with her husband everyday.

I’ve noticed a sharp uptick in the number of workoholics who really don’t have all that much work to do but keep frenetically running around as if they’re on deadline 24/7/365. They’re usually 20-somethings, and truly irritating.

Who irritates me at work?
Clueless executives (Director level and above) who don't know anything, or have any experience with, the department they are the executive over.
They pontificate, kiss the hiney of their immediate superior, threaten consequences if unrealistic demands of every type are not met ON time, WITH every bell and whistle, and UNDER budget.
I have tried again and again to get these types to recognise the three affecting things for any type of activity - You can do it fast, you can do it cheap, you can do it right - pick any two of those and we can do it.
It never seems to sink in.

The most irritating are the slackers, followed by the smokers who take several breaks every shift while on the clock.

I teach. The most annoying people at MY place of employment are the a$$hats in our state and federal gubermint who a) either haven't done my job in 2,000 years or not at all; b) tell us how to do our jobs even though they don't have a $%^$#@# CLUE; and c) create more problems for us with their ineptitude. My boss is great, my cohorts are great, my kids are dynamite. But these bozos in Sacramento, yeesh. Not ten brain cells to rub among them.....

I’m retired now but I was always annoyed at the corporate-speak people; “getting grounded”, “deliverables”, using architect as a verb - “I will architect a plan”, “buy-in”, “paradigm shift”. I could just puke when an empty-suit corporate person used those kinds of terms.

Mines easy...
These are types, who at meeting, spout out nonsensical "great" ideas to the unknowing, and nontechnical boss, but when the meetings over are nowhere to be found when the work must be done.
This is closely followed by the person who commits to everything in front of the boss....but never follows through afterwards....
Both of these types need to be managed carefully via CYA e-mails to prove ones innocence when their house of cards comes crumbling down upon them....without the CYA's, their demise can sometimes turn into yours...
