That would be great if Fred took Iowa !
I’m curious to see how far the MSM is going to push the “ Huckster ascension “ in Iowa ? That has to be worrying the Mitt camp as well .

HEY!
Mitt has been a member of the NRA all of his conservative political life!

How about all those witty Willardian
bon mots about Jeri Thompson's dress and her **gasp** cleavage!?!
That's the height of political discourse.

Fred’s a real man. Unlike like Rudy and Mitt who will do and say anything, change their image, to become president. Fred’s genuine.

If, and I’ll be honest it maybe a big if, but if he took Iowa, it would be over. It would validate his style, and do it a lot earlier than even I thought.
Given Fred’s other political runs, it is not out of the realm of possibility that he could pull this off. He does best with the voters, not the pundits and so called experts..

That’s a reasonable expectation, spiff; but post five (your post) resembles the behaviour you seem to dislike.

You were taking a potshot at a viable, conservative candidate. You may wish to believe your perceptions about Fred are widely accepted, but they are not.

Stocks in pharmaceutical manufacturer Sanofi-Aventis ... Why should I vote for a candidate whose supporters make puerile comments like that?

Okay... I've watched the ads now. They're pretty good, in my opinion -- a simple, direct, basic introduction of Thompson.
I'm sure the political junkies will say it's short on substance, but this is just a warm-up message to introduce himself to the voters. I imagine later ads will be more focused on specific issues.

It’s about time! I plan on supporting Fred at the caucus and have been patiently waiting for some ads to counter the constant assault by the Demos and Romney. IMO Romney’s Iowa support is very thin and could go to Fred very easily.

Excellent.
At the end it says: Fred Thompson, President.
Not for,...just President. I like how that sounds.

Theyre like Libs calling into Rush; they cant argue on the merits so they come up with childish crap like this.IMHO, the MSM does not understand the depth of support for Fred. We view him as a reliable conservative, and understand that federalism can lead to outcomes that we may not like, in different states. This is a discussion that our country needs to have, and hasn't, for many years: what powers need to be returned to state and local governments, as federal authority has become too far reaching.
There is no question that the Beltway Establishment, Democrats and RINOs alike, want DC to be the political center of the universe. Unless I completely misread American history, the Founding Fathers never intended that, just as they never dreamed of the evolution of the permanent political class that now resides in Congress and the Senate.
I like the fact that Fred didn't join the race as early as the others, just as I've grown weary of the reportage on the "horse race" instead of the issues of the day. I also like the fact that Fred is running his own race, in his own time. It indicates that FDT is "comfortable in his own skin", a quality I don't see in the other candidates.
