CNN Defends Its Use of Democratic Supporters in Republican YouTube Debate
Fox News ^ | November 29, 2007 | Major Garrett

After spending the day facing accusations it stacked the deck against the Republican presidential contenders by having Democratic backers ask video questions during its debate, CNN on Thursday responded that it doesn't know what the fuss is all about.

The cable news network, in collaboration with video Web site YouTube, hosted the Wednesday night debate that had more than 30 voters pose questions to the Republican candidates. It later turned out that several of those questioners are actively supporting Democratic candidates.

"The whole point of these ground-breaking CNN/YouTube debates is to focus on substantive questions of concern to real people and to throw open the process to a wider range of Americans all around the country. CNN cared about what you asked, not who you were. This was the case for both the Democratic and the Republican CNN/YouTube debates," CNN said in a statement issued late in the day.

It always irks me when "Democratic" infers to the "democrat" party. We have a "DEMOCRATIC" system of check and balances.
It is the "DEMOCRAT" and "REPUBLICAN" Party, CNN! Get that thru your stupid heads, morons!

while CNN may have planted I think the candidates should be able to answer any question from anyone, democrat or republican, even planted ones from the opposition.

What gets me is that Glenn Beck defended A.Cooper’s involvement on his morning radio show—claims AC couldn’t have been complicit in this sophomoric political fraud.Granted,Beck is on CNN too,but I would rather think the #3 conservative talk show host is more a moron than a sell-out.AC was so much the man of last night’s media mendacity a blind rodeo clown could see the BS.
As for the DNCNN,the Clintons own it so much Hillary is Ted Turner with cellulite.

The whole point here is that CNN CHOSE the questions. That’s the bogus nature of their whole argument. CNN decided out of ALL 5,000 entries which questions to use. As many have said, those questions were couched in “liberal speak,” and therefore chosen by CNN because they followed their own bias. Let’s face it...Gays in the military and the Confederate flag are NOT big issues to Republicans, but they are to the liberals, which is why CNN chose them. It’s unfortunate that the questions that Republicans REALLLY would want the answers to were not even asked.

I wasn't as polite as you, I sent:

'Rat shills planted to make the Republicans look bad. I expected nothing less from the Clinton News Network, especially after Wuss Blather spent 2 hours kissing Hillary's ass last debate. I did expect you pick some less obvious plants but,.... I guess you couldn't be bothered.

Did Cooper and the "General" get it on after the show? I mean, it was obvious how hot he was for him - giving the guy more air time than the candidates.

“Agree with you there, they were on the wrong network.

Did any body watch the debate to the end...Fred Thompson said, “Guys, let’s have our own debate, let’s have several, with a few contenders at a time.” Best idea yet, no ringers, no moderators, no audience plants, no hippie guitar songs as the theme song for the debate.”

My appologies for my extremely late reply.

Thank you for your comments.

After the first debate, I haven’t listen to anymore for the reasons Fred Thompson doesn’t like them either. I agree with him all the way. That is an extremely intelligent idea.

Thank you for clueing me in.

“They had more than 5000 questions submitted and they not only managed to pick general swishypants’ question, they also managed to fly him cross country, put him up in a hotel, and put a mic in his hand.”

Funny, I don’t think they used or ever planned on using any of the ‘submitted’ questions.

The PRODUCER of the CNN DEBATES openly states that it took his staff ‘MONTHS’ to come up with the proper questions for the debate.

After they picked the questions, then they picked someone to prep with the question, and be prepared to ask it.

Kolonel Klink(Kerr) was a ‘special’ GAY insert. Done to make Anderson Cooper feel good.

During the DEMO DEBATES, outside there were groups of VOLUNTEER SUPPORTERS for each candidate. The “RED STATE UPDATE” guys asked one such group, “who is a volunteer”, and “who is a paid supporter”.

Only ONE PERSON raised their hand as being a VOLUNTEER supporter.

It was a dirty trick that CNN tried to pull. But frankly, it’s a good thing to see how REPUBLICAN candidates respond to questions asked by DEMOCRAT shills. Hopefully, conservative folks will see the RINOS for who they are.

Rich Johnson of Fox News was on our local talk station this morning. He said, “well, the questions were good, though.”

He also said this would blow over in a day or two...Hillary wouldn’t see any problems from it.

There you go...another “fake, but accurate” stance and the MSM covers for Hillary.

The most disgusting was the ex-so-called-general asking his gays in the military question and then allowed to give his own answer. What is he running for?

"We shouldn’t split hairs on who to vote for in this one. Whoever get the nod we just got to hold are nose and support until they get elected."

Go right ahead if you so desire, but some of us are done with voting for the one who stinks the least. Put another way, voting for the lesser of two evils still amounts to voting for evil. After many election cycles of holding our nose, we now have Guiliani and Romney running well in a party that used to be conservative.

When do we take a stand and tell the republicans that the drift to the left is unacceptable? They barely listen in an election year. Do you honestly believe that they will listen after we have held our noses and voted for them again?

Does CNN really think anyone is stupid enough to fall for this?

6,000 questions were submitted for this debate. Out of those 6,000 questions CNN just happened to pick one from a guy who is the head of a Vets for Hillary Group? A question on a topic that does not appear in any list of the top 25 issues Republican voters say they are concerned about?

CNN now compounds their crime by out right lying about it!

And then they snicker about FNC’s “Fair and Balanced” tag line.

CNN is a humorless joke.

Not only that. To ask a question about a topic that probably doesn’t even register in the top 25 issues Republican voters are concerned with.

So, If I remember correctly we got not one question out of CNN on Govt spending, taxes, Energy policy or any of a number of serious issues but we DO get a question about Gays in the Military?

And they want us to believe that wasn’t deliberate?

Unfortunately Fox is a shill for Guliani...so it seems the pot calling the kettle black

Unfortunately for you your assessment of Fox is pure nonsense without even a hint of a thought of a possibility of a clue.

Glad you hate Guliani. However, that doesn't give you cause to make complete fraudulent accusations at everyone who doesn't mindlessly scream hate at him like you want them to.

Your post is also wholly irrelevant to the point of this thread. What ever shortcoming Fox may have as a news organization it has never pulled the sort of bone head transparently biased stunts CNN pulled in these last 2 debates.

“Most of the top tier aren’t REAL Republicans either......”

Yeah actually they are.

Curious what the 100%er Freeper purists around here would of said about a President who signed 6 tax hikes? Signed a real Illegals Amnesty? Appointed a liberal to the Supreme Court? Doubled Federal Spending in 8 years? Spent Record Deficits? Ran away from a Muslim Terrorist threat? Played diplomatic footsie with Iran’s mullahs?

-

-

- That President was Ronald Reagan. So not even the greatest President of the 20th Century could measure up to standard being demanded by the purist Freepers

Nothing in life is ever perfect. Adult minds accept that and fight like heck to see as much as possible of what they want done gets done. Childish minds, and certain pseudo Conservative talking heads, whine hysterically because their political glass is only 70% full. All the time, by their actions, they are working very hard to make sure their political glass will NEVER get any fuller.
