Murtha finds military progress in trip to Iraq Warns that Iraqis must do more for their own security Thursday, November 29, 2007 By Jerome L. Sherman, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. John Murtha today said he saw signs of military progress during a brief trip to Iraq last week, but he warned that Iraqis need to play a larger role in providing their own security and the Bush administration still must develop an exit strategy.

"I think the 'surge' is working," the Democrat said in a videoconference from his Johnstown office, describing the president's decision to commit more than 20,000 additional combat troops this year. But the Iraqis "have got to take care of themselves."

Violence has dropped significantly in recent months, but Mr. Murtha said he was most encouraged by changes in the once-volatile Anbar province, where locals have started working closely with U.S. forces to isolate insurgents linked to Al Qaeda.

Now where do we go to get our honor and reputation back, Congressman?

[. . .(Murtha said) the central government in Baghdad is “dysfunctional.”]

As Democrats demonstrate on a daily basis what a "functional" government looks like.

Many members of the Iraqi Parliament have been killed and wounded in terrorist attacks. Just one example:

April 12, 2007

[BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — A suicide attack in Iraq’s parliament building on Thursday killed eight people, including two Iraqi lawmakers, and wounded 20, U.S. and Iraqi officials said.]

[After the attack in the building’s cafeteria, more explosives were found near the parliament room and were destroyed in a controlled detonation, according to Iraqi lawmaker Iman al-Asadi.]

Our Congress would refuse to meet under that kind of threat.

I don't believe it.

Murtha couldn't find his ass with two hands, a mirror and 3 clues.

LOL

Surprised this traitor was allowed to get anywhere near the troops.

Rumor has it the troops had to lose their bullets when bill klinton placed his arrogant, military loathing self within striking distance of our own troops, wonder if the same was done for this disgusting piece of pork driven creep.

His Internal district polling must show that “HILLARY DRAG” is going to cost him, unless he admits THE TRUTH...

Get back to me when this scum apologizes to the troops he defamed...
