Posted on 12/15/2007 11:37:37 AM PST by Live Free NH
After being a Legal Permanent U.S. Resident for the past 35 years (Canadian citizen /my hubby is U.S. citizen by birth), yesterday December 14, 2007, I was sworn in as a U.S. CITIZEN at the U.S. District Court in Concord, NH !! I am SO PROUD and SO EXCITED !!
93 new citizens were sworn in from 33 different countries! It was a WONDERFUL ceremony ! Every nationality you could imagine was represented !
Within 3 hours of getting sworn in, I went to my local Town Hall and REGISTERED TO VOTE ! So I will be "good to go" for the New Hampshire Primary on January 8th ! whooo-hooo !!!
Live free or die, fer sure.
Congratulations and welcome! :-)
Welcome new American citizen...
I’m proud of you...
I’ve been a citizen since 1975....
Congratulations fellow citizen and thank you for joining us in the fight for conservative principles.
Congratulations, welcome and may God bless our new Americans!
Congratulations, welcome, and thanks for wanting to become a legal US citizen. You might want to give consideration to Gay State Conservative’s procedure, I do this in TX and it’s especially valuable when for instance you know GWB has a lock on the state in the primary, you can “cross over” and sabotage the opposition. Only downside is if say GWB wound up in a runoff, and you voted in the dim party to screw them up more, you couldn’t return to the repubbie side for the runoff. But you can still vote for GWB in the general.
Did I meet you in person that time a couple of years ago when Bush was visiting the New Hampshire Technical College in New Hampshire, where Granny D got arrested? I think I remember your screen name.
A big THANK YOU to all my fellow Freepers for the wonderful welcoming comments ! It’s very heart warming ! I am truly blessed to have been given the gift of U.S. Citizenship. I will never forget my Canadian “roots” (another wonderful country !), and now I am blessed with citizenship of this great land of the Pilgrims!
Another great blessing in the U.S. is Free Republic - I’ve been a member since 2001 - thank you Jim Rob for this awesome conservative web forum !
No, I never went to the New Hampshire Technical College event. I did however go to the “Picnic with W” event Aug. 6, 2004 in Stratham NH, and I helped quite a bit with the Bush/Cheney campaign in 2004 (phone banks, mailings, etc.)
Know you had a smile that ran from ear-to-ear at that ceremony.
Within 3 hours of getting sworn in as a new U.S. Citizen, I was down at my Town Hall registering to VOTE !!! I’m good to go for the NH Primary on Jan. 8th !! whooo-hooo !!
Congrats Live Free NH:)
So you went south for a vacation awhile back and never got past New Hampshire? Ouch.
And you even speak English!
